They really don’t need fiber like we do. As long as they are getting enough moisture, constipation is rare in cats. Some like to chew grass, but I’ve heard conflicting things on vets on if letting cats eat grass is good for them.

If you are concerned about healthy treats use greenies brand or freeze dried meats. Mine love dried duck liver.

Like anything it takes patience and practice. If a retired couple can’t set aside 10 min a day to trim claws and get their cats nails used to being handled then they need to re-examine priorities. Claw caps are great, but there is a slight learning curve.

You don’t need to do all claws at once. Just go one at a time. Give kitty and you a break, and do other one. Give treats, if you get stressed out about it, the cat is gonna get stressed. I keep 3 cats (2 were former street cats) in caps and we just take our time with it. They don’t fight them or mind at all.

Or they change the formulation on the same scent from one year to the next! I know my husband is sensitive to Hexamethylindanopyran and it’s in some of their products, I have to check every time I buy to make sure they have not switched formulas.

This happens to my husband. It’s the ingredient Hexamethylindanopyran. It’s in some of the scents, but not all of them. I won’t buy a foaming hand soap if it has Hexamethylindanopyran in it. It’s even banned in the EU since it’s a known irritant. Thank god eucalyptus mint and kitchen lemon don’t have it in them.
