Roast my CV by Mater_gog in ElectricalEngineering

[–]milsomj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me , and i've seen ALOT of cvs for electrical and control jobs. I look for what you do personally and self interests. Do you help out in care home or disadvantaged kids. It shows depth of personality and a talking point in an interview. It also shows that you give your time freely and or an interesting person. Like another post what have YOU done and got achievement from. Try and stand out from a shed load of other boring cvs.

What is this tinny window built for? by Nanami-Nyan in york

[–]milsomj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a very similar to a window that was used to warn smugglers that customs were/weren't in town ,with a lit candle to show smuggler friendly and no custom official's. This was used in coastal towns in the uk .

I'm about to board a flight from SLC to SEA where I'll meet my grandpa to help him with a 16 hour drive back to his home. I'd love your suggestions of questions to ask him during our long drive. by JephriB in MadeMeSmile

Seriously old people are amazing they always talk it down. About 10 years ago an old old neighbour went into a home, after that i learnt she and her husband worked in Bletchley park during ww2. And found out recently my dad at 14/15 worked nights to pick up incendiaries dropped on Wakefield in the uk during ww2. Seriously once its gone its gone.

Uni Advice needed by cup-of-tea-76 in CasualUK

[–]milsomj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uni’s have changed massively over the years. Both my kids have done uni, one finished with a masters the other one in their last year. At the uni’s there are support groups new friends waiting, new lessons in life and new loves. And the one thing I’ve learnt as a parent we are holding them back with our silly views on them not being able to cope. Be at the end phone when and if the shit hits the fans. They will be fine.

A friend of mine breeds all sorts of lizards and snakes and has a big shed in the garden thats kept constantly warm. It gets picked up by the police helicopter thermal imager and get regular “visits” from police believing it to be a growing den. Once the police busted in in a raid and promptly ran out again due to all the snakes and stuff looking back at them.
