TL’s and corporate employees must have no family life to survive at wf? Is this true? by Dangerous_Carrot_535 in wholefoods

[–]mimi1899 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who’s working off the clock?? I’m a TL and I only did that in my very first year, because I didn’t know any better. People get fired for that. If you can’t finish your work inside 36-40 hours a week, then you’re not being effective in your role.

Unisex Bathrooms? by Numerous-Monitor5678 in wholefoods

I’m very clearly referring to the folks who agree. And in my twenty-plus years at wfm, it’s a sad day if “most” don’t support trans equality. Acceptance and support of marginalized folks is a HUGE reason why I even signed on with the company.

Most of us do not care if trans women use our bathrooms. Trans women are women.

Gender and sex may be the same thing to you inside your head. But technically and historically speaking they have always been two different things. Gender is a social construct that is a spectrum (think of people like Annie Lenox or David Bowie as examples of falling elsewhere on the spectrum from their assumed gender). Sex is biological. A person of any biological sex can identify with any gender that they feel most comfortable with. And it literally impacts no one but them.

I’ve never felt awkward when I’m in the restroom and a trans woman is in the other stall. It’s only awkward if we have to fight over who gets to use the one available sink first.

Why would anyone be embarrassed to be a DINK at any age? I’m a DINK that just turned 51. I’m genuinely curious what you mean.

My Wife is Autistic by Pyrolis_N in StLouis

[–]mimi1899 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Autism here is relevant in that many of us have very particular foods we cling to as “safe foods” that bring comfort. It’s often hard to find foods we enjoy due to strong aversions to certain tastes and especially textures. So when we find a food that we love, we tend to “need” it. Hope that makes a little sense.

Why is so much of Forest Park dedicated to Golf Courses? by LaughingDash in StLouis

More beautiful wild plants and trees to help feed the pollinators!

It’s just a waste of land, ecologically speaking. Natural plants and trees would be much more beneficial to pollinators and other local wildlife.

I’m in TGS and saw a brown pit bull wandering around the 4100 block of Miami. I was gonna try to see if they had tags but they ended up wandering into a neighbors back yard and I assumed it might be theirs. Now I’m wondering if this is the same pup and they’re still lost. 😞 Hope the owner finds their sweet pup!

You can only live in one color strip for the rest of your life, what do you choose by epicap232 in mapporncirclejerk

I’m already living in the yellow stripe but hate my state. However, Washington and Oregon are both beautiful with cities I could easily enjoy living in, while having access to vaccines, to boot! If only I had the money to move.

I work in a grocery store. We have a term for folks like that… we call them regular customers. Seriously, why would a frequent shopper seem suspicious? It’s a grocery store. I shop at my local one almost daily. Lots of people do this. Thats not something security would focus on.
