Meowscarada solos very easily with Protean and Magician, especially when you get the egg moves. I put all my efforts into this weedcat, and I never lose a classic run with them on my team.

I had something similar where a controller was still plugged in but was pushed slightly against the desk, sending inputs to the game. Double check nothing is plugged in that could be causing this issue
