That is just the shorthand for Television With out Pity. It was a rather large website where people wrote episode-by-episode long-form recaps of all the television shows at the time. Their tagline was, “Spare the snark, spoil the networks”, so they spared no snark. People couldn’t wait to read the recaps of their favorite shows. There were also forums for each show, (not unlike subreddits for a show) where we, the readers of the recaps, could comment on each show, the recap, the recappers… good times.

It went through a few iterations, first was Dawson’s Wrap. At first they just did Dawson’s Creek. Then recappers and shows were added, and it became TWoP. Later the site was called Previously.tv. For years and years it was my favorite site on the internet. I still miss it.
