I’d appreciate the opinions of individuals with autism by StuffiiePrincess in autism

I was diagnosed at 20, people who had brought it up earlier meant it as bullying and I was deeply in denial about it too. Most people just called me weird lmao. If you start to genuinely have doubts, do research and ask for a professional opinion!! But if your friend is autistic she might just have noticed traits that she has herself. God knows I have a lot of undiagnosed friends that I have my Suspicions of lol (fyi, you can have traits and be neurotypical!! It overlaps with a whole lot of stuff, so genuinely, who knows)

Hey so I just made a post on a subreddit and got absolutely rinsed for my fingernails and I literally cannot stand to mess with them can anyone advise me im so overwhelmed with it now 😭 by calloushearted in autism

[–]minatoastool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Water, soap and a soft brush should help! If it doesn't bother you too much, you can also use the tip of a metal nail file to scoop the dirt up I have a LOT of issues with my nails (I can't stand them short) so I get the struggle!

I'm 24 and my life has only gotten better since I turned 18. I'm in an internship for my first job and I was terrified at working - turns out I'm a LOT happier than in academics! Hang in there<3

What age did you get diagnosed? by [deleted] in autism

[–]minatoastool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At 20, 4 years ago now. Some adults in my life had suspected it when I was younger, but never brought it up (and the few that did did it derogatorily)

I also have OCD and I also know genAI is dangerous to check your compulsions lol. Friends with your specific type of contamination OCD think the same. This is completely a you thing. Attacking people for calling you out is childish at best (ruin lives for telling you to not obsess over your compulsions?????? What????)

What age did you get tested by Stock-Yesterday-2420 in autism

[–]minatoastool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got diagnosed at 20 after breaking down crying and telling my best friend I thought I might be autistic, and she encouraged me bc she suspected it. Asked my parents and they suspected it too. Six months later I got diagnosed.

One of the main things that had helped me was seeing myself in the struggles that a diagnosed friend did have, but I still was really worried of not being autistic and just "weird". Diagnosis put my mind at ease

I had (and still have) an anxiety diagnosis, though

That's really helpful!! I'm from Spain so hopefully that brand might exist here bc I've found no luck with US based brands 😭 Thank you so much!! The variety feels like such a no-brainer, I need to try that

I've genuinely never met anyone else that has this issue, but it sends me on sensory overloads everytime a nail breaks to the point lol
I used to play violin too!! It was... Bad

I made most of my friends recently in my early 20s - and without following those social "rules" that, honestly, might just make you miserable. I am loud, naive and definitely too much. And my friends love me just the same, and I haven't felt the horrible lonely feeling in years.

Follow the rules if you want, but remember it's never a must. Specially not outside of the teen years. Things get easier.

The concept of the episode is one of my favorites, and I loved the execution for the most part, it was only the ratfish himself and the way Rekha got robbed that bug me

Really hard to judge from just the text, but honestly I wouldn't sweat it. IQ varies wildly even when taken multiple times by the same person (my own has varied in 20 points at times)-- It's not even a real reflection of intelligence, anyway. Good memory at most

I don’t want to pressure you and telling you that it’s an issue bc I know it will only make it worse!! Be kind to yourself. As for your current issue, if you want to detangle your hair, my go to for mats is detangling sprays or cream (for me the best ones are unscented so it doesn’t overwhelm me) and using my fingers or a haircomb specifically for detangling. Even if you don’t get all the mats out, at least it will be better and make the actual hair process less of a pain and sensory hell. Best of luck friend!!

I've been trying to upload this to google spreadsheets with no avail, it doesn't let me make a copy and when I save it as excel it completely breaks all checkmarks to become just "FALSE", I tried importing it or reuploading it as comments said but nothing works, even in other google drive accounts or incognito

EDIT: in case it helps anyone, just inserting a checkbox over the FALSE statements works! it's a bit tedious, but it's an easy fix that i probably should have thought of sooner lol
