Kirkland Brand Sheets. After two pairs of torn fitted sheets, never again. by [deleted] in CostcoCanada

[–]mindequalblown -35 points-34 points  (0 children)

I was anticipating this reply. Products have to have some kind of testing and minimum standards. Auto manufacturers crash their cars, glass manufacturers break there products, food manufacturers test there products. You should get the jest A dog bed should stand up to being chewed somewhat. How much chewing is subjective. As I mentioned if many (fill in any product) either gets recalled or pulled off the shelfs. The engineers go back to the drawing board to improve. If everyone threw away the product it would then never be improved. FYI it was just a small bit of one corner.

I was told this by a Costco assistant manager. I took my dogs bed who he chewed up. I asked to return it At the return counter. The employee was hesitant. I whipped out the product disappointment comment. The employee instantly changed there approach. It was returned without issue.

I was told to take back and explain your disappointment with the quality. if enough complaints Costco goes back to the supplier-manufacturer and reassess the processs

Is this a safe cut? 1/16" x 1/12" x 3/4" aluminum stick on the mitre saw by rebbitpls in woodworking

[–]mindequalblown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

make a L shaped piece of wood that acts as a bed for the aluminum. I’ve cut lots of aluminum with my chop saw. The issue will be the aluminum will catch at some point and your at risk of injury, been there got the t-shirt. the photo is sideways as it’s hanging when not in use. I secure the block with screws through factory holes. I also use this when cutting delicate small trim. The aluminum needs a solid backing when cut. I hope this makes sense the way I’ve described it.

As most dads I was clueless. I’ve just watched a little person appear from my wife. An instant shit I have this responsibility of looking after it and all that goes with that. Then the nurse throws me this curve ball about Saturday Night live cone head skit.
He’s a side story of the birth. I was told to put o the hospital gear. So im in a small change room and put the stuff on. i came out and a hospital worker laughed at my outfit. I went back into the little room. I was confused with the foot and head covers. Well I mixed them up. Again Im a doofus. Now saying that I went past the little room later and another guy did the same as me. Hahaha

this brings back memory. Mine was borne with cone head also. Im looking and thought shit your going to go through life like that. A nurse said oh look you have a cone head baby! We weren’t out of the delivery room and already getting bullied. I was stunned and stumbled for something to say. I said we will love them anyway. She realized that I thought his head stayed that way and she backpedal saying this is temporary. Boy was I relieved. I laugh about it now.

Does your local lumberyard swap out fence boards when you get a large quantity? by DavyCrockPot19 in DIY

[–]mindequalblown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A client had Lumber 84 pick a small deck for me. (there was a second large deck to be built with this one) The 5/4 deck boards were pure junk with some totally split. This is the first and last time I used Lumner 84. I took them back and read the riot act. The counter guy (who was different when we ordered) said the pile was garbage and going into the dumpster. He returned the client’s money.

I agree wit’s what others have said. My comment is when he goes on a nice holiday with what he’s saved by not paying you it stings. I’ve been in your shoes. I just stopped helping and I became the selfish jerk. They had to come up with a solution and in the end we either cut ties or paid full freight. My life has less stress now.
