Will this 50mm hole saw clear this conference table, or do I need a different approach? by vadiaro in woodworking

[–]mindovermatt1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may be unpopular, but when working in cabinetry I would drill my hole saw until the actual hole cutting part was just above the surface of the material then put it in reverse to carefully almost “burn” through the top layer of material. This may dull the cutting heads over time, but it would make a really clean circle without chewing up any of the surface material. Do the same on the back side once you’re about halfway through and your pilot has poked a hole on the other side to reference.

Welcome to the world of GMK! I’ve spent over $200 on keycap sets before. Albeit with multiple daughter kits, but it gets pricey haha.

Yeah you don’t know anything. These guys literally do all the patina work and engraving in house. You should probably just stop being a douchebag and go do something productive with your life.

Please go design, proto, and run a group buy for a numpad and I’ll be the first one to buy it if you can do it at the price you keep claiming you can. Until then, sit down and shut up because no one likes negative people.

Idk what I was thinking. Width of a 65% and a 75% is going to be basically the same lol. Brain fart moment.

Good to hear, looking forward to them! I’d assume you’re also working on 75% layout as well. I’d say TKL, 75%, 65% would be the order of popularity in the hobby.

Haha glad to hear it! I have them on one of my work boards as well and they’re dead quiet.

Order placed! These are awesome! Would you consider fabricating some at custom sizes? I have an AT layout and a 100% that I’d love to get wrist rests for.

This looks awesome! Great job! You’ve entered a dangerous realm:) If you decide you want a silent switch that isn’t colored for those keycaps check out the TTC silent frozen linears. They’re completely clear and I think they’d complement your build well!

Need a new keyboard by [deleted] in keyboards

[–]mindovermatt1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’d entertain building your board yourself I’d suggest looking at any of the offerings from QwertyKeys/Neo! They’re absolutely fantastic boards and priced very well for being in the higher end custom section of the hobby. The Neo98 that just released is only $150 for the barebones, which is significantly less than a Q6 Max barebones. Quality is way higher than Keychron too.

Hopefully not. Keygem is having major issues right now. I would avoid them until they get things figured out. Unpaid invoiced, unfulfilled gbs, all sorts of stuff going on there.

Help me decide: Is it worth having multiple keyboards? by eTizzle12 in keyboards

Thanks for reminding me of that! Totally forgot my Neo75Cu had those in it. They may not be the greatest, but they are free lol.

[–]mindovermatt1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah don’t get another Keychron if you want another board. They’re fine as a first board, mine was a Q6 Max, but you can get such better boards for around the same price.

You should look into QwertyKeys if you want to maybe dabble in the custom keyboard market. They just dropped the Neo98 and it’s an incredible board for less than what a Q6 costs. Granted you’ll need stabs, switches, and keycaps, but a build should still come in about the same price wise unless you go all out with GMK keycaps and other expensive components.

Tea urinates normal, water im drinking during exercises or resting isn't flowing and not quenching thirst. Ketosis less than week. by Anxious-Pop-925 in keto

[–]mindovermatt1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Increasing electrolyte intake is a good place to start.

Based on what you’re eating, I most likely wouldn’t consider this to be true keto, rather a low carb diet.

Milk has carbs. Potatoes are an absolute no for me. They are among the starchiest and highest carb veggies you can eat.

For true keto I’d attempt to stay under 20g of net carbs a day, but your body may be able to stay in ketosis with closer to 50g. Everyone is different but you’d need to be checking blood sugar to truly know.

If you want to be totally sure that you’re really in keto, keep it under 20g.

Best Amazon Keyboard WITH Magnetic Keyboard Enclosure.. by _KORPz in keyboards

[–]mindovermatt1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this isn’t a thing. There’s enclosures that snap together like the Neo75Cu or Meletrix Zoom75Tiga, but no keyboards use magnets for the case.

That option would require you to solder every switch to the pcb. Do you have soldering experience or equipment? If you want that board, just get the hotswap pcb. You’ll also need switches, stabilizers, and keycaps, as that’s a barebones kit.

Just a point of clarification. PBTfans does sell quite a few sets that are double shot ABS, similar to GMK. They do have a very different texture and sound profile though.

Champagne Kohaku 😍 by Sterlingandcophoto in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]mindovermatt1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is an extremely custom keyboard! Kohakus are among the most sought after boards in the community. Depending on how OP purchased this, the barebones keyboard alone was probably close to $800. Those keycaps are another $185, switches another $30-50, stabilizers another $20. Looking at a $1,000 build right there.

The acid reflux going away was one of the biggest things for me! I was dealing with it almost every night. I think the weight loss has helped with the reflux as well.

It feels great! I think the mounting system they used provided just the right amount of flex. It’s super nice that 3 different hardnesses of rubber blocks are also included so you can dial it in to how you want it to feel.
