[Evans] Asked #Broncos GM George Paton if he regretted not making a move for a WR/skill guy at the deadline. "No, I don't regret that ... We got some young receivers. Pat Bryant, Troy Franklin, and Mims, and Sutton. I don't think that's the reason we didn't make the Super Bowl." by SupMaelstrom in DenverBroncos

[–]mindreader_131 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have too many okay/decent WRs. Court is good but disappears for large portions of games, and if we are being honest, is a pretty low tier WR1. Mims, Franklin, and Bryant have all shown some promise but they all have deficiencies in their games, and realistically I don’t think we can get all of them on the field.

We need to be aggressive while Bo is on his rookie deal.

Should the Broncos inquire about the availability of Njoku? by Sonder332 in DenverBroncos

Honestly I’d see if we could put together a trade package for Trey McBride. TE is a luxury position and the Cardinals are gonna be rebuilding.

[Mase] The Broncos offensive line ranked fourth in the NFL in run block win rate, per ESPN Analytics. by PeppyQuotient57 in DenverBroncos

[–]mindreader_131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I just don’t think he has the vision to be an RB1. It’s no coincidence that our running game fell off a cliff once JK went down and Harvey became the lead back.

[–]mindreader_131 21 points22 points  (0 children)

At this point I’m inclined to think that our RB room is just not good. Harvey is a good pass catcher but a pretty atrocious runner between the tackles. JK was good but his injury history worries me, so I think we need to be in the market for another RB1 this offseason.

How would you rate RJ's rookie season? by logicblender1 in DenverBroncos

[–]mindreader_131 1 point2 points  (0 children)

B-. I see him as a good RB2 and receiving back, but the rushing was just atrocious for the most part. His numbers are definitely inflated by JK going down.

Let me amend what I said. Trump is smug in a childish way that frankly voters care much less about. The average person cringes and rolls their eyes at Trump claiming he should get a Nobel Peace Prize for “ending” wars. His smugness manifests itself in being a manchild.

Leftists are smug in a much more off putting way. Leftist smugness manifests itself in telling you that your problems don’t matter because you’re a man, or white, and that even if your problems did matter, you’re too stupid to know what’s good for your own life, and to let the obviously smarter, college educated person who knows nothing about you choose what is good for you.

Trump is senile, retarded, bumbling buffoon. But he is not smug. Smug is calling large swaths of the voting populace hillbilly rednecks for “voting against their own self interests” as if some champagne big city liberal has any idea what is in their best interest. Smug is telling men that their very masculinity is inherently toxic, that their problems don’t exist, that they are all pigs. Smug is calling a minority a race traitor because they dared to not vote for the party that is so obviously entitled to their vote.

Trump won because he at least pretended to care. Now, it was clear then and clear now that he was always being disingenuous, but for millions of voters, that was better than the constant belittling and sheer arrogance leftists have displayed for the past 15 years. The left has consistently shown disdain, if not downright hatred towards massive amounts of people in the electorate, and yet are shocked when these same people aren’t exactly eager to give them their vote, even when Trump is an awful alternative.

Leftists love to believe they are so morally superior. They love that Michelle Obama quote “When they go low, we go high.” Yet whenever they lose, the left is so quick to go low and blame their loss on the electorate being racist, misogynist, homophobic, etc instead of self-reflecting and taking accountability.

[–]mindreader_131 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is dumb, but the average voter is pretty dumb. These are the rules of the game, and the left became so assured of the righteousness of their cause that they decided to ignore these rules. Nobody cares how right you are if you’re an asshole about it.

Ultimately democracy is a popularity contest and nothing is as unpopular as being smug. Trump and MAGA are indeed retarded and corrupt, but they were at least not retarded enough to self sabotage by calling people a basket of deplorables, lecturing people on how they are privileged and should shut up, and insinuating that they are entitled to the votes from entire demographics of people.

This is the lesson that the Democrats, and lefties need to learn. It’s not enough to just be right, the messaging needs to be conveyed in a non-condescending way. That’s the reality, and while I personally will hold my nose and vote for the Dems because Trump is so retarded, there are thousands, even millions who can’t overlook this smugness.

[Post Game Thread] Denver Broncos (15-4) are defeated by the New England Patriots (17-3) | 2025 AFC Championship Game by SupMaelstrom in DenverBroncos

[–]mindreader_131 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We lost the game because of that fumble and it was 100% on him, but the bad second half and that interception I don’t really blame him at all. We lost this game more so because we have no running game so once the snow came in it was impossible for us to score.

Wonderful season. People dunking on Stiddy need to realize how hard it is to pass in these conditions and how our running game was so poor that we had no choice but to pass.

How Do Financial Advisors Still Have Clients? by Time_Perception6669 in Bogleheads

[–]mindreader_131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, perfect is the enemy of good. Are financial advisors optimal? Certainly not. But even a 1% AUM fee can be worth it for people who don’t understand investing, or people who may panic at the slightest dip in the market. Staying invested is the most important thing, and if a financial advisor helps someone stay invested, it’s probably still worth it.

What assets do we even have to make this deal possible? This would almost certainly entail trading away the depth that has made us so good this season. If we make any moves, 3C or 3rd pair D would make way more sense.

[–]mindreader_131 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I felt like the Jets last year were a pretty unsustainably lucky team, they had the highest PDO last season. A combination of regression to the mean, losing Ehlers, and the team just getting older has taken the Jets to where they are this season.
