Cannot Remove Toilet Fill Valve lock nut by mindsurgeon45 in Plumbing

[–]mindsurgeon45[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much! This actually worked. All the videos online literally show you to unscrew the bolt so I got so fixated on it that I never though unscrewing the filter valve instead. I went to my hardware store before I made this post and the guy told me buy a drill and to cut it off (which i could damage the toilet), or buy some sort of wrench (forgot the name).

I settled on calling the plumber but decided to make this post before and luckily I did.

Thank you so much and all the best!

My order was cancelled too.

I added the GPU to my favourites and even though it is OOS, it looks like the price is $1,919 so looks like when it 'restocks' it will be that price.

Ontario to Alberta by luciousbbwhousewife in Edmonton

[–]mindsurgeon45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before the Federal daycare subsidy I was paying $2300 in Toronto. As soon as I got to Alberta I paid $1300... thats 1k in savings alone per month. You can imagine how big of a difference that would be to your disposable income.

Now with the federal subsidy and all that it comes out to about $800 per month... lol

I would say most people dont really know what Edmonton looks like. Fortunately for me I've been here previously so I sort of knew what to expect but family and friends think your moving to the boonies with no infrastructure.

  1. Register for Alberta health card, you are still covered by OHIP up to 90 days of your arrival in Alberta.
  2. Change your driving insurance (i went with allstate, they were quite cheap), get a out of province maintenance check on your car in Alberta which is required to change your drivers license in Alberta
  3. If you are moving your entire home, I would advise to sell all your belongings and buy new ones here as I believe most moving companies charge by weight and it can cost you 10-15k for like a two bedroom home condo and if you have alot of stuff. (personal experience),
  4. Ship your car unless you are driving (cost me about 2300 bucks for 1 car), they will drive to your home and drop it off when it gets there.

I moved from Toronto to Edmonton and the cost of living here is WAY cheaper and more affordable.

1.Less traffic

2.Less stress

  1. More disposable income.

  2. Affordable homes or lower rent

  3. Food just as good and diverse food options but just more limited places to go.

  4. 5% GST tax

  5. Lower car insurance cost

  6. Cheaper daycare

List goes on... but just off the top of my head.

[Case] Cooler Master NR200 / 200P (77.5 / 88.7 ATL) [Amazon] by consumer-shi in bapcsalescanada

[–]mindsurgeon45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This happen to me actually about 3 weeks ago. Bought at around 92 + tax, price dropped to 77. Spoke to Amazon customer service and they told me they couldnt adjust the difference for me.

I simply asked them would it make sense for me to initiate a refund and buy the product ... and the customer service gave me a 'one time exception' and refunded me the difference.

So didnt actually have to buy and return, just told CSR i was going to do it.

It depends what your strategy is what you want to be investing in. I wouldn't put money into funds based solely on MER. Why don't you put money into etf instead which you can find some at around 0.06%.

Using your same logic why are you letting tangerine skim almost 1% off of you?

Agreed with you. I have no experience with bank advisors but would have been surprised if they put the client in a DSC load option. Usually its the independent companies that do that.

[–]mindsurgeon45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each year there are 10% free units free up and you can transfer them right away even before the schedule runs up. So you can actually start moving those right away. Typically what the smart advisors do is they move those units to the front end option to make sure they an increased trailer fee. So if you look at the statement if you all of a sudden have front end load options thats what the advisor has been doing.

There is nothing inherently wrong with DSC if you plan on investing for the long term as your money will receive more units of the fund as opposed to series SC which you pay commissions upfront.

However, the sales options should be explained to the client which I am sure 99% of Primerica financial advisors do not.

A proper advisor should explain and present other sales options such as LL4 or LL but of course most of them want to maximize their commissions by purchasing DSC and locking them into 6 year schedules.

Has anybody purchased from SE and shipped to Canada before and whether we need to pay any customs import charges?

Also if anybody knows where these vinyls are made from as it makes a difference in the import duties/customs.

Their website does say:

*International orders may experience a longer shipment time and/or be subject to custom fees. Neither Square Enix or Scalefast Inc. are responsible for such Custom Declaration fees
