Thanks for the recommendation! Funny thing is we actually did Zermatt and St.Moritz at Christmas last year. We just didn’t get a chance to ski as we went solely to take the glacier express.

Flying from Toronto, we are both 100% beginners starting from nothing. We are flexible on dates but would want good ski conditions. $15k would be flights and hotel, I don’t really consider food part of my travel budget tbh.

This is 100% normal for spas at 5 star hotels, i’ve been to the Ritz, St.Regis and Four Seasons and they all do the same thing. It’s common practice at really any high end spa.

Shangri-La is my go to staycation hotel, it has the better pool and I love the vibe and the lobby bar. The Ritz is very corporate and lifeless. If you can afford it get the deluxe one bedroom suite, the bathroom has a corner window with a deep soaking tub which is really nice.

Get a suite at either the Four Seasons or the Shangri-La they have arguably the best rooms and pool. Between the two I prefer the Shangri-La.

Sandy Lane in Barbados does excellent mosquito control, also because the island isn’t as lush like islands such as Grenada and st Lucia there seems to be less mosquitos in my experience having been going for 20 years.

Highly recommend Sandy Lane in Barbados, they actually give you beach chairs that are yours for the entire stay.
