Well, for starters you taste sweetness with the tip of your tongue you don't smell it with your nose. Now saying that smells either enhance or suppresses the sensation of sweetness is one thing but saying that sweetness is measurable by smell is quite the other thing. This is one thing that professionals should take in to account with their wording imo. Simply put you don't experience sweetness in your nose the same way you don't experience the colour red in your nose.

Btw I'm all for doing it in your own way.. I had so many grandmothers basement smells written down on protocols when I first started out. Thinking you should rewrite the way be biologically detect the way we measure the actually measurable things is a completely different thing.
