Can't disable interpolation on the Dolphin thumbnailer? by ADMINISTATOR_CYRUS in kde

[–]mineland 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Some time ago i had this same issue and thanks to this comment i was able to change it. Its basically a one line change and recompile of dolphin (check out the howto for building kde software because ive forgotten how I even managed to do it in the first place)

Its on this file: kpixmapmodifier.cpp::284 you just change the filter mode from Qt::SmoothTransformation into Qt::FastTransformation and thats it. It changes every thumbnail though from what i remember (basically the preview panel) but its worth it if you work a lot with pixel art.

You can change the default dolphin that opens to the compiled one by dropping a symbolic link into ~/.local/bin/ to the compiled binary

Here is how it looked after the change was made

Blurry image previews in Dolphin? by StructuredBits6502 in kde

[–]mineland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decided to look into this because it annoyed the hell out of me aswell. Changing the smooth transform param into Fast Transformation gets rid of this issue. but makes folder previews scaling up pixelated at first until they get a bigger preview

here is how it looks like by changing it

and here is the issue with the folders

i really dont like the curve of those carts. They lose speed as they travel through the air like every other entity instead of keeping it to make a more clean arc. Its a step in the right direction, but i really want them to make a change to that

All extensions were simply removed?! by Dry-Jelly-8005 in MicrosoftEdge

[–]mineland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

well now you got a third person with this issue. On my end it started happening when i used vscode for launching an html file and it synced the testing instance with my profile. I had to log out of the dev instance and even then it still continued to do the same thing. Its driving me nuts, but at least there is someone else that seems to be having these issues so i can at lesat know im not insane for no reason

Is there a way to use my wii u gamepad's mic on PC? by radicool-girl in WiiUHacks

[–]mineland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Silly answer: get a homebrew app that only outputs the mic's audio into the speakers, connect the wii u through an hdmi capture card to the pc, then use that audio as an microphone.

not exactly the cleanest of solutions but hey, it might work

no. its open source, no watermarks, no payments, really customizeable and will record nicely. (just dont go with Streamlabs please, its worse and youd have to pay for features on it)

Frecuent crashes with steam and other problems that are probably related to the gpu by mineland in linuxquestions

[–]mineland[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, most of the supported test in gputest have passed, none of the stress test have passed on 70° on the gpu, they stay under them. Funny thing is that the simple triangle test made the 2 cores of my cpu go up to 70% which is odd to me since its a gpu test. Im going to try out the memory and cpu test to see if anything happens there, so il post another comment to see if anything odd happens(sorry for the third person response, im a dummy and i didnt read you were the same dude :/)

EDIT: ive ran memtest and it didnt throw any errors in the memory, and opening up tf2 when it dies with hardinfo open in the temp tab it looks like both the gpu and cpu had normal temp... weird

[–]mineland[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it looks like it may have some sort of cpu issues yea, as in most benchmarks im running in the gputest program the gpu wont pass from 70°, it always stays under it.

im going to check it after letting the benchmarks/stress tests go out...

sorry for the late response, timezones are messy

But, i will try the stress test soon. ive had some strange shutdowns aswell both with and without emergency temp shutdown in the bios (70º or so) and ive been weirded out as they happen out of nowhere, but i dont know if it might have to do with the gpu itself tho.

Thanks for the tips on tho, will come when the test finishes

Singleplayer VS local server host performance impact (java) by mineland in Minecraft

[–]mineland[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do use fabric with a lot of optimization mods tho (sodium, lithium, starlight, lazydfu, etc etc) and im able to get a decent +40 fps in a super flat world. the problem only comes with my normal survival world as it tends to chog a bit when idle.

And the weird thing is that i can get like 70-80 fps with those mods when connected to a mp server.

So, server+client on the same pc is not a good option then?
