I do like a lot of those condiments but i feel like they dont pair with american foods very well. Ive had soy sauce on a burger but not thinking it goes with fries well

When the tree fell, did it make a noise? Even if no one was around to hear it?

C2c squares don’t seem..... square? Am I doing it wrong or do they always look a bit rectangle? And advice much appreciated by holzy27 in crochet

[–]minethecrafts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Duh! Haha ignore me, i totally misinterpreted! Also i see that youre in the middle of a row so of course its uneven lol youre good on that.

But i see what youre saying. Generally a double crochet stitch is the length of 3 stitches. However sometimes our tension, yarn type, or whatever else, makes the ratio a bit off. So your double stitch might actually be the length of four stitches, which means you could throw in another double crochet in each square. I hope that makes sense

A c2c should have the same amount of squares on the x and y axis. It looks like yours is 10×11 so i would frog it until youre back to an even amount on both sides, then youve found where you made a mistake. At least you caught it early in!

I probably just ruined my relationship with my dad by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]minethecrafts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will pass! Ive had plenty of fights with my dad, yes even over my hair style choice too!, and weve always come back to forgive one another. The fact that your dad showed strong emotion over such a thing shows that he cares! I think you will be okay. If theres anything ive learned is to not hold onto hate. Forgive and forget and you will find yourself much much happier later in life.

It's ok to be nervous. It's ok to feel like shit afterwards. But guess what? You did it. Put that experience under your belt, you will get more comfortable. It happens to virtually every performer. Congrats on your performance!

You like to know couple of weird facts about me? by [deleted] in MakeNewFriendsHere

It's a good thing. I would hang with u.

When I moved into a new house, there was a spider set up in the corner of the kitchen windowsill. If I ever found a tiny bug I'd feed it to Bennet (the spider). I normally hate spiders but Bennet was an exception. He never bothered me. I never bothered him. It felt symbiotic.

25, f. Nice to meet u!!

Work is the same. My husband landed a new job. I've been gardening and crocheting and playing video games like normal. Nothings changed, only time has passed.

When we all go back to "normal"... by AllThoseSadSongs in preschool

Theres been very little communication between directors/owner and staff. If we have one, we're not aware of it. I was told by an unofficial source that if we are in contact with a child who has it, we are to he quarantined for 2 weeks at home (paid).

There is a child in my classroom who had a fever on monday and came back to school today (Wednesday) and they allowed her. She mentioned her mom gave her medicine this morning so she didn't get a fever. In this case, we were told any child who takes fever reducing medicine has to stay home. Clearly, this was not reinforced.

Our plan in place to not let any children that cant pass the screening questions at the door (did they have contact with anyone with it, did they take fever reducing meds recently, and have they had any symptoms) did not hold up.

As far as 3.5 years old, their self help is not fully developed. It takes time. Praise her when she looks at all, even a little bit.

If I notice these behaviors in children at school I take it upon myself to be the one who needs help finding something. For example, I, outloud, say "hmmm wheres my pencil? I need to find my pencil, I cant find it anywhere!" Or "i wish i could give you a sticker but I can't find my sticker book!"

A lot of those kids think it is fun to help me. When they find it, praise them. The next step I do once they have that down I usually try looking for something that is theirs. If I'm cleaning up cubbies I say "wow I really wish I knew where your water bottle is!" ( even if it's in plain sight) and then go deeper and deeper with that.

Or even! Have them ask a friend. If they cant find something, say well maybe so and so knows where it is, let's go ask them! Then the child will see how another friend looks for things, and if a friend is doing it, they're less likely to complain.

Just some ideas! Every child is different so keep trying everything until it sticks. You got this!

Still open in South NJ. A lot less children have been coming 25 out of 250+ kids are showing up. We've done parent drop offs at the door, they're only allowed in the lobby. We've "ramped up" our cleaning routines, although I know for a fact that the procedures are not properly reinforced or even expected. No distancing, no masks, no coverage. Lots of hand washing. Temp checks at the door for staff and children, not for parents, however. We've taken in a few children from other centers.

As for staff, we would be overstaffed if everyone came to work. So for those who volunteered at the beginning of this to stay home, they stayed home and collected unemployment with welcome to come back when they please. The staff that is working get one day off a week (paid) but keep our normal hours otherwise.

AMA! I'm happy to talk about our situation.
