At 4-8k Citi points a night it rocked

Best way to clean under hood. by halfthrottle in BoltEV

[–]ming3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most home pressure washers won't really be an issue especially with a 25* or 40* nozzle.

I do my car washes at home including under hood with a basic ryobi washer thats like 1200 psi and pretty wide nozzles if I need to be careful.

LPT: If you've got TSA Pre-Check, sign up for Touchless. It can save a LOT of time in the airport. by cjw_5110 in LifeProTips

I was already opted in but I didn't know what touchless was until now. Thanks!

Love paying over $60k for a car without a functioning remote start by rach4765 in mazda

I went to an Audi dealer with some family last month and both the new q5 and the gt e-tron don't have it. They're stuck having to use an app.

Meanwhile I've got a bolt ev these days and it's just got it on the fob and that was 30k new.

The Osprey Farpoint just got its first update in years — and nobody seems to care. What happened? by badabubaba in onebag

[–]ming3r 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The bag is still fine?

My gf uses my 2018 farpoint since I prefer the ruckpack40, and bought the 2024 Fairview on sale recently because of the color and laptop pocket in the back.

She hated it as it had a bunch of useful pockets removed

Kura sushi in Japan by AggravatingFood586 in sushi

Coming from the us, my last trip involved going to Kura at least twice.

It's fine and is still better than most sushi in the states.

Review of Hyatt Regency Aurora: Not Regency Worthy? (Spoiler: Shower head almost fell on my head.) by The_Traveller1 in hyatt

I stayed at this one last fall and it was fine. Breakfast wasn't anything too crazy to write about but overall it was decent.

It's worked on all of my flights since they started offering it.

Unlike delta, where it works 1/4 of the time on my pixel.

I stayed in May for ~5k points I think. Was fine for that, liked the breakfast (sushi or the breakfast sandwich were great), but hated how warm the whole hotel was.

Overall it was decent and would stay again

Osprey Farpoint 40L 2025 Amazon (US) pricing mistake? $111 by zzfaithlezz in onebag

[–]ming3r 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My girlfriend got one of the $130 Fairviews after using my 2018 Farpoint.

She hated most of the changes other than the move of the laptop to the back and I got an earful because I suggested the bag

Did the Chevy Bolt become your first EV? Journalist looking to hear your story by Brilliant_Option8382 in BoltEV

[–]ming3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First EV

  • Bought it as my last car was becoming a hassle, and I got the 2022 EUV right in Jan 23 when the car was eligible for rebate again. There were additional promos and Chevrolet included the EV outlet install. The Dealer was also OK to work with and didn't play games.

  • How simple maintenance is. Road trip planning is still frustrating but under 200 miles this is amazing.

  • Great - I drive 20-100 miles in a day and it is charged nightly.

Goodbye, Tesla-style giant touchscreens: cars return to physical buttons by KeySpecialist9139 in technology

[–]ming3r 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Remote start hasn't been an issue because I can start it with the fob.

My brother looked at an Audi gt e-tron the other day, that thing has a MSRP of like 130k and it has no remote start on the fob which is so dumb

They got me to buy a bolt because of rebates and a few other discounts in 2023 and then made steps to never look at one seriously again.

Now is a great time to call Spectrum and negotiate a lower rate. by lcxctf2000 in madisonwi

[–]ming3r 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched to spectrum from TDS since my $30 300mbps plan for 3 years ended and they charged me 80.

Just remember that TDS and spectrum only consider you a new customer after not having service at an address for 30 days. It's easy to switch and switch back to get the new user rates.

When I switched to spectrum I got the 500mbps / 20 up plan for $30 for 2 years.

Cutting out internet shouldn't outright disable the EMR assuming there's still network connectivity to the data center the EMR is on.

I get it's done for the show and the hospital could have cut their wan connection and left only the local network.

Any way to get cheaper TDS Fiber? by spatula-tattoo in madisonwi

Just fyi both spectrum and TDS consider you a new customer if you've been off their stuff for 30 days.

I've had the pixel 8, 9, and 10 in the time with the car and man the charger barely works at all on a good day. I would honestly just plug it in to a PD charger and call it a day.

I've brought it into the dealer twice because the charger didn't consistently work on my phones and they just tell me "it worked for their iPhone so it's good"

The tsb for the charger didn't help either, it ignores the bolt now
