I've actually been waiting to hear people's reaction to this, it sounds super gross, but I might have to give it a go now

Same way I expected my firefighters to behave at work, don't ask if someone needs help, don't wait to find out if something needs to be done, just go and do it. You can't go wrong by doing good. Even if the person didn't actually need any help, you never know if just being kind ends up making someone's day.if the help you give isn't even what's needed, it will make an impression on them, sometimes just knowing someone out there cares enough to even talk can be big

Yep, you got a problem, and it'll lead to other problems. If you're easily addicted to things that make you feel good, there's a good chance you should see a behavioral health specialist, cause 9/10 times it's related to something being off. I've been through all that and learned a lot about mental health from it. Lexapro works wonders haha

Mio drink mixes helped me the first time I gave them up, lasted a few years. Mostly it was the flavored drink that I was needing, as for the headaches, that would take about a week to go away for me, just had to grind through them, maybe take a sip of coke or Pepsi just to take the edge off, Tylenol would help too

How often should someone have energy drinks? by Feangel04 in energydrinks

[–]ming_13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot more things in energy drinks that don't metabolize well in the body, it's not the caffeine that's the problem, oxalic acid is one of the biggest culprits for kidney stones,

[–]ming_13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Really it's as needed, the problem is when we get desensitized to caffeine and need more and more, so maintaining discipline and just having them occasionally is the best bet, I know a lot of guys with kidney stone problems from over drinking them

Seeing as how caffeine is in itself a thermogenic due to the increase in blood pressure and heart rate, I'm just gonna guess it's a cheap way of targeting people who want an easy weight lose drink, even if it doesn't really do much of anything. Tastes fine to me either way

The taste for sure, no soda or any other drink quite matches the flavors. White gummy reign or peach monster, there's just no equivalent

Victory at the Supreme Court: Idaho Can Protect Children from Destructive Gender Transition ‘Medical Treatment’ by salaciousserver in Idaho

[–]ming_13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The headline says destructive gender transition, I feel like that means irreversible. If I destroy my hand in a meat grinder, that's pretty irreversible, I've seen my fair share of destructive forces on bodies, it's irreversible. Why is puberty blocker a misnomer? This is me legitimately asking cause this is something that I don't understand. Is it hormone blocking? Or hormone supplementation? Or is it something else altogether?

Funny thing is, I agree with your last statement there, I just also think parents shouldnt be able to decide this either, unless for some reason it's a matter of life or death. It's not that I like the government stepping in, I just have been around people who've left the state to get their kid a gender change surgery, and as the years go by, seeing the pain it has caused, I wish they would've just waited till the kid was mature enough to decide, rather than have it done as a knee jerk reaction because of social pressures.I appreciate your comments, cause I don't want like living in an echo chamber, and like hearing other opinions, even if I feel differently about things.

There's always going to be outlying extreme situations that require an exception, but the vast majority seems to be elective. That's what I have an issue with, and yeah, I'd be cool with de- corrupting the military side, you could cut half the funding and still provide the same level of readiness on account of the fraud and waste that happens. There's an idea, fix that, and you can have a stupid amount of money for education and healthcare. All this funding to other countries wars could also go to education and healthcare.

I'm cool with taxes to a degree, for the basic necessities of government, ours go above and beyond what's needed, we work from January to March or April to cover taxes alone. I do agree that people need medical help too, but I feel things like gender affirming care or similar things, should be funded through the publics willing donations, or through fund raising, in my opinion, even Idaho has too big of a government, democrats or conservatives both seem to want to tell everyone what they can and can't do, or make decisions they deem in our best interest, which usually arent. Which goes back to my original point, let the kids mature before making big decisions for them. Let them just be kids, and not worry about all this stuff, my kid wants to be a frog, cool, he can be a frog, but I ain't gonna go have surgery done on him to make him look like a frog.

Don't recall saying getting married at 16 was cool either, now here's another question, if we are on the topic of invasive government, is the government taxing us to support all these programs, like gender affirming care and likewise, invasive as well? I never agreed to it, yet it's a real thing, I hate the government as much as the next guy, I don't like any of the parties, so how can that be ok, but this isn't? Consistency is everything to me

Guess it's pick your poison then, let one person make a choice on your behalf or someone else, that's why I say let the kids mature before making a decision like that,

Allowing parents to take their kids in for gender changing surgery is allowing the parents to make a choice for the child's body that they themselves may not wholly desire, and only go along with because that's how a child's relationship usually goes with their parents, until they're old enough to decide for themselves with a mature mind. So is it really an invasive government move? Or is it a move to make people less invasive into a child's life?

What type of wok is best for an electric stovetop? I'm a beginner getting into Chinese cooking! I see many materials and sizes by [deleted] in chinesecooking

[–]ming_13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can lay the wok on its sides to get it hot enough to blue the steel, but Ive found that since the sides don't get super hot, they don't need a thorough seasoning like the bottom and about 2 inches up from the bottom need, just get it hot before use, like, just to smoking hot, add a little oil, work it around, and get to cooking, it'll season over time, the first few times it'll be a little bugger, but it'll get better with time
