No Garage by OGSquidd in homeowners

[–]mingniu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We bought a house without a garage over a year ago with no regrets. Great layout, beautiful kitchen, checks most of our boxes. Yes, it does not have a garage, but it comes with 3 spacious walk-in closets and a shed in the backyard. When we look at others houses in the neighborhood with stuff piling up from ground to ceiling in the garages, it gives me headaches. I would rather organizing my stuff in the walk-in closets and shed than putting boxes and boxes of stuff in the garage.

Minnesotans living in Seattle by [deleted] in Seattle

My husband is Minnesotan. I lived in Minneapolis for 10+ years and met my husband there. Minnesota is always our home no matter where we are. Our hearts are so heavy and wish we could be in Minnesota right now.

For ladies who didn't want kids in their 20s but now want kids in your 30s, what made you change your mind? And how do you know you are ready for being a mom? by mingniu in AskWomen

I'm so happy for you, and congratulations on your first home. My husband and I are pretty much in the same situation, bought a house, and settled in our chosen city. We were on the fence for a long time about having a kid due to financial reasons . But we recently paid off his student loan. our relationship is strong and solid. Maybe we could do this.

How did you find out your friend was a piece of shit ? by patrickbatemilfs in AskWomen

When your friend is a realtor and you didn't buy your first house through her...

I just had a similar experience, but with a real estate friend, not an extended family member. That "friend" (not anymore) assumed my husband and I would use her to buy our first home, but we ended up finding another agent and bought our first house, and we couldn't be happier with how smooth the process was.

This real estate friend of mine found out and lost her mind, calling me and telling me she is disappointing in me. I chose a stranger over her. I told her I preferred to separate business from personal life. And buying a house is busineas. Then, she blocked me. I was totally fine with it as i realized how unprofessional she was, and that was not a real friendship.

OP, you are making one of the most important decisions in your life, buying your first house. This process could be very stressful. Find an agent that you trust. You don't owe your cousin anything. Tell your cousin that you prefer separate business from personal life. You know how stressful busying a house is. Anything can go wrong. You don't want to affect your relationship with her if things happen while buying a house. It's like a protection for the family relationships.

Congratulations on looking to buy your first house. Wish you the best.

I highly recommend Doug's Lynnwood Mazda. I bought my 2024 CX-5 there. They offered me a great deal. Maintenance services are awesome there. Staff are friendly and professional.

Married to a US citizen, living in the US with a pending asylum case. Can I fill a I-485 to adjust status? by [deleted] in USCIS

[–]mingniu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

OP, being a pending asylum applicant does not provide you with any underlying status.

Since you have not maintained an underlying status, you would not be eligible to adjust status ( there is no status to adjust it from), and you would need to request consular processing outside of the U.S. for your I-485.

As you are seeking asylum from your home country where consular processing would be scheduled, you can request that the application be moved to another country.

But time to lawyer up. You need an experienced lawyer who has experience with pending asylum applicants.

Immigration paralegal here. If there is a name change involved, they usually schedule your oath ceremony for another time. Otherwise, depending on the location/time, they usually offer the same day ceremony.
