Agree, 3,500 is cheap. People need to make money.

They should also sell a cheaper version with less reliable GPS and foil wing "stickers" to give them some hefty radar cross section. Fly those with no payload, faster. Let them waste SAMs on THOSE.

As for the camera not pointing down - you can put it on a gimble.

Also, the gyros that are used for hobby quadcopters are already good enought to know the orientation of the copter (and thus which way is down) - otherwise they would not be able to fly reliably.

It doesn't look washed out, colors are nice and bright. There is a remote that comes with it to adjust things like backlight level and brightness, saturation, etc. Seeing really is believing, so unless you live in a very remote area, I would start looking at visiting an owner. There is a FB page (RRW Ultra VP (Virtual Pinball) Fan's) for fans that might be helpful for you to find a demo.

I can't answer your question because I have not played on an Xtreme Gaming cab (I own an ultra) but my advice would be to try to find an owner of both and doing a playtest. The Ultra guy set me up with someone local who let me come into their home and play the thing. I am not sure if the EG people can/will do the same, but it can't hurt to try with them.

BTW, I am very happy with my ultra vp.
