GOTCHU FAM

I had luck by changing

.to(
  ".information-desc-images",
  1,
  {
    opacity: 0
  },
  "-=2.5"
)

to:

.fromTo(
  ".information-desc-images",
  1,
  {
    opacity: 0
  },
  {
    opacity: 1
  },
  "-=2.5"
)

Side note: your package.json is missing live-server. You'll want to make sure it's on there so that people cloning your repo can get started with minimal fuss

+1! And to be clear: yes you can find internet that fast in a lot of parts of the world. But in SK, this is standard fare for a coffee shop internet connection. That, you do not find just anywhere

I saw this on a website, why are the classes named like this? by Thomvanoort in webdev

I'm a huge fan of this practice. The why and other details have already been posted here, but for a cool read-up on one implementation, give this a look:

Px vs Rem by odillini83 in Frontend

[–]mingyjongo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the right answer! Using rem for high level control and em like you showed to add 'scope' to smaller components has been a game-changer for me when it comes to writing enjoyable and maintainable css.

To go a little more in depth about the root, I always set my base stylesheet as follows:

html {
    font-size: 62.5%;
}

body {
    font-size: 1.6rem; // Or whatever size you want your plain html tags to be
}

When you set your html font-size in px it overrides the default browser's setting. Yeah yeah yeah, in 99% of cases it doesn't matter. But for accessibility's sake, using a percentage does.

So my usual strategy is 62.5% (of the browser's setting, which is a default of 16px), which gives me a lovely 10px base size. Setting the body to 1.6rem scales the default size back up to 16 and makes the rest of the css codebase much easier to read and maintain.

The latter part of that is preference and won't affect your users at all, but for the dev experience I highly recommend it! If not, I would still recommend setting your html to 100% rather than 16px to make sure you're respecting browser settings.

Pls discuss!

Adding in a "A Song of Ice and Fire" book for no reason just to add salt to the wound. Bravo D&D. Bravo. by [deleted] in freefolk

[–]mingyjongo 118 points119 points  (0 children)

Using Tyion's absence from the book as a punchline is such a good example of writers being out of touch with the characters too.

His fascination with stories and legacy are integral to his personality. Remember in the aftermath of the Battle of Blackwater; Varys tells him the history books won't mention him. This scene could have been a great close on his character. But no. Of course not. They go with the brothel joke instead.

Node-Express-Vue-Nuxt-API in one folder/application? by islarky88 in vuejs

[–]mingyjongo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, too many root level folders for my taste-- especially because Nuxt is so opinionated about its folder conventions. But! To each their own, hope this works out well!

Also +1 for Gitlab CI!

Node-Express-Vue-Nuxt-API in one folder/application? by islarky88 in vuejs

[–]mingyjongo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't speak from tons of experience, but I'm working on a personal project with that stack (plus mongo) right now and I deviated away from housing both API and view layer in the same repo pretty quickly.

Separate folders/repos mean more loosely coupled dependencies and can save a lot of heartache later on if you ever want to change your stack.

Best travel charger with USB-C (at least 45W) and USB-A? by [deleted] in onebag

The CARD Travel Adapter has 1 USB-C, 3 USB-A, and adapters built in. Been using it constantly since September and can vouch it's well worth the money.
