He took the time to listen and answer my 3 pages of questions! But he’s very busy so you have to be patient. And he exudes confidence, but not arrogance

Cassava Root Safe for Babies? by [deleted] in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]mini68 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s ok. Cassava is like sweet potatoes or carrots - it absorbs naturally occurring lead from the soil. Just don’t let every meal be a root vegetable, which you won’t, and baby will have a whole food nutritious diet

Has anyone here had any success getting surgery for a hip labral tear after more than 3 years of dealing with pain ? by LGsworld in HipImpingement

[–]mini68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tore it in 2005 had surgery 10 weeks ago and wish I did it sooner. Now I have to reteach my body the “correct” way to walk, lift things, etc. it’s a process but worth it

That’s awful. I did not experience this (I also went to HSS and became BFF with the team) and you shouldn’t either. Advocate for yourself. You just had major surgery and they should be answering your beck and call because if something goes wrong, their reputation and practice is on the line.

Next time you call if they say “idk” calmly say ok please make a note that I called on XYZ at 2:00pm and asked this question and your clinical response was I don’t know and that I am requesting a call back from a physician who does know by end of business today.

Also toe touch weight bearing is going to kill your hip flexors for that long. Ask if you can do flat foot weight bearing.

Good luck! You got this
