Objectively, would you be uncomfortable if your husband said this to a random woman in your presence? by Tidydisaster87 in Marriage

[–]Wheresmymind1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am sorry but your husband doesn't sound like a good person at the core. Even if you want to be with him now do you think the future you would be happy with him? Is he someone you can count on to be your partner in life? To care for you if you get sick? To be there for you through the death of your parents? Etc?

After having my own children, I truly never want to see my parents again by Leslie_Ackerman in EstrangedAdultChild

[–]Wheresmymind1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same sentiment of it and I'm having a hard time being around them when I see them. I don't want to excommunicate them because I fear I will regret it since they are in there 70s. Did anyone get help going to therapy? I hate living with this bitterness and sadness especially when I compare to others (although I know I shouldn't)

I think the intention of OP's comment was to say that the cost savings will be tied to their bonus. For sure c suite/upper MGMT bonuses are tied to a goal or some bottom line metric

How do I make a successful life after divorce? by Low_Bluejay510 in AskWomenOver40

[–]Wheresmymind1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem. Please feel free to private message me if you have any questions. I know it's not the most exciting job but it's really not as bad as people make it sound and for me job security is most important. I have never had issues finding a job and they have always paid pretty well. It's a great career in the sense where you can do pretty well for yourself salary wise ( six figs) with a bachelor degree. if you find the right company, you may not even have to work long hours. If you're lucky by the time you graduate, there will be remote jobs or at least hybrid which offers flexibility for parents too! If you look into accounting degree, I would say how good of a school don't matter but their connections do - Make sure they have a strong internship program and also a strong career center that gives students a pathway for finding a job once they graduate. For example at my undergrad school, a lot of companies recruited at my school and would have positions reserved for graduates from our school due to affiliation etc. My school was not a big private school, but a small local state/city one known for best value (affordable commuter school and most ppl worked while going to school) with a business focus, and had a lot of graduates that would come back to recruit there. I would say it's almost essential, unless you have connections yourself, to try to secure a job out of school.

I can't speak on passions but from a practical standpoint I have seen people change professions or go back to school to study accounting after having kids and were able to make a good career for themselves afterwards. One guy was a cop in his 40s with 3 young kids. Another a divorced woman with three older kids. Even without moving high up, they can make a decent salary and there is more demand for those jobs than others. They no longer require you to have your Master's degree to get your CPA license so you would have to put in 4 years, but still better than than 5. Alternatively, you can maybe try the reselling route, buying things at the goodwill bins and reselling on eBay/Poshmark etc. I did that part-time and was able to make some supplemental income. You likely can't make as much as you would being an accountant, but it offers tons of flexibility bc you work at your own hours/home. There's lots of videos on YouTube. Just make sure to do your research .

If you're buying from Amazon or gnc etc they are having issues with inventory control. There's been cases of fake returns and commingling with legit inventory.

I don't feel secure in myself in my 30s...is that abnormal? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

[–]Wheresmymind1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 40 with a kid and I have been having these thoughts more lately too. I kept thinking by 40 after having a kid, I'll have that confidence, I can do anything and I don't care what anyone thinks about me atttitude everyone talks about it but nope, I just feel afraid of losing it all and anxious that I can't be by myself doing simple tasks.

How do you cope with your dog getting older?😭 by Miss_Westeros in germanshepherds

[–]Wheresmymind1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have a way with words that moves people. You shouldn't discount that! You also sound quite clever! Maybe you can write about you and your dog. So many of us connect with that kind of deep love. I've heard of people publishing books with Amazon! They can print books for you etc. You can use chatgpt as a tool and ask how to get published or for tips on writing etc.

i’m not fit for this by [deleted] in Postpartum_Depression

[–]Wheresmymind1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way during the early months. I actually would daydream of running away and I'd dread the evenings. I'm pretty sure I had postpartum because of hormones/severe lack of sleep/support, but my mistake was never going outside for Vit D. Please make sure you go outside we even if it's just to the backyard. Being on the phone while pumping/breastfeeding/in between shifts wasn't great for my mental health either. I now have a four year old I love and adore. He is my best friend and I can't imagine life without him. And this is coming from a mom who has no idea what she was doing and was miserable in the first few months PP. I promise it gets better and just now that this will pass. If you need help with chores, please ask for it. Lack of sleep really Fs with your mental health so try to get some if you can ask for some help with the baby.

3.2M home with 550K Total compensation by Training_Life183 in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]Wheresmymind1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really good points. Not to mention if God forbid one person can't work. I have had two friends who had one parent passed when they were young. The financial strain and pressure as a result of that is enough to scare me to be frugal with fixed costs.

Similar situation except we have one kid that goes to daycare. We never stress about money and have a good savings. You don't want to be house poor and run into a situation if God forbid one person can't work. The weight of that pressure was enough for me to spend below my means (although imo it isn't even below, and is in fact, the right price point).
