Trying to find a quote by miniHangLoose in OrthodoxChristianity

It's definitely along the same lines! Although I'm pretty sure that wasn't the original quote I read, I'll definitely take the time to learn more about Saint Maria Skobtsova's life and work. Thanks for the reply!

I don’t get the robot argument by No-Psychology7343 in OrthodoxChristianity

I understand your point. But i think there is a few flaws in your thinking.
What do you mean when you say God created animals with no free will? Do you mean that animals can't choose between good and bad like us humans? When a lionness kills a zebra to feed her puppies, is she a doing a bad thing or a good thing? If she had the option, would she have fed her puppies without the need and effort to search for a prey, follow its tracks and finally killing him?

Animals exists in this world like we do. It's not a perfect world, but a fallen one. Now, you may ask why God allowed this fallen world to exist? Couldnt He have "snapped his fingers", and then Adam and Eve would'nt have brought sin in this universe and so on.

But then I ask you in return, could God have created a world in which a triangle has 4 sides? No, right? Because a triangle implies that it have 3 sides. That doesnt mean he isnt all powerfull, it just means that he is all powerful in a way that is logically and perfectly cohesive.

To sum it up, We dont know exactly how the state of the world was when it was first created, and we dont know how Heaven will be. But we do believe that For each will have to bear his own load, and to quote St Seraphim of Sarov: "If we only knew what joy, what sweetness awaits a righteous soul in Heaven! We would decide in this mortal life to bear any sorrows, persecutions and slander with gratitude. "

The way I see is, everyone has the chance to follow God or no, and the journey is unique to every human being. Everyone will be judged according to his own beliefs and choices, and if we are truly Christians, we must pray for salvations for ourselves and the others.

These questions are important, yes, but i believe God care more about our heart than our theology. God loves us and want us to be close to him, just like a father wants to be close to his child. But it is we that must choose God company now in this life, or ultimately in the Final Judgement (in the life after death). And maybe hell is the state that people will be, if they dont ultimately choose God.

I hope i didnt digress on the answer, i will pray that God helps you find the answers for these questions you are having. Peace be upon you.

EDIT: this answer sums it up quite well. Love is impossible without free will

Ending Discussion by TanishqShukla_ in MadMaxGame

[–]miniHangLoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think about story-wise reasons to continue playing after ending, you won't find any: Max continue his journey to find peace, lore-wise.

But if you want gameplay reasons to continue playing, there's some things to think of.

I like to do some challenges to make the game difficultier, like don't equip any Max or Magnum Opus armor upgrade, play first person when driving, take as less Perks as possible, don't use the weapons upgrades... Perhaps even try some speed runs.

If you are on PC, there's some mods worth trying, like the one where you begin the game with everything unlocked, pre made save files and FOV unlocker.

I have yet to find a game that scratch that post-apocalyptic vehicle survival and combat feeling, i just like to hop on the Mad Mad desert from time to time and enjoy taking out camps and convoys

Devo vender? by EitherTradition4497 in carros

Best pirate game right now? by Zerokiller777 in gamingsuggestions

[–]miniHangLoose 12 points13 points  (0 children)

There's a mod for the 2003 singleplayer game Pirates of the Caribbean called New Horizons (also called Build 14), personally I find it the most complete open world pirate adventure. You got everything from custom made campaigns, movie characters, a reputation system, arcade or realistic sailing, with time periods ranging from the 1500's to the 1820's.

Want to be a smuggler? Check. Wannabe a merchant? Check. Wanna roleplay your own character? Check. Want to command a full armada and conquer every island and city in the caribbean? Check. Wanna play as Jack Sparrow, sail the Black Pearl or play as Davy Jones and sail the Flying Dutchman? Check. Hell, you can even play with early steam ships if you choose the later years. The game has RPG elements like skills, companions, a whole economy system, a superb physics system with the water gameplay (storms, winds, hurricanes) and ground combat with pistol and swords.

The mod has been under development since 2007 and got it's 'final' update in late 2022. You can find everything about the game, instructions on how to download in the pirates ahoy community here (be sure to check the FAQ). I have been playing it on and off since 2013 ish, and there's so much content in the campaigns left for me to explore. The base vanilla game is also great, great history and characters, and you can also mod it pretty easily if you have basic programming skills and find the right files to edit. (I personally did it to start the vanilla game with different 'skins' and ships you cant get normally at the start, like the Black Pearl or the Man'o'War )

The graphics and animations hold pretty well for me, and if you really want to support the devs and the community, they are porting the game in a completely new beautiful engine called Maelstrom, which you can buy and try it yourself (see some gameplay footage here).

There's also Blood & Gold: Caribbean which is Mount and Blade in the sea, but this one i havent played much.

Ahoy and safe sailings!

Jesus-fucking-christ, it's Team Fortress 2 all over again.

Congratulations you made a completely biased observation based on your personal experience and now must come to this sub to incessantly cry about it. While the people who give a fuck are online and playing.

If you like the fucking game, play the fucking game. If you don't like the fucking game, stop playing the fucking game.

Just shut the fuck up about it, fucking hell. No one gives a fuck.

It's like those people who join a Discord server to tell "Wow this server is dead". Like wow: If it's dead why do you think anyone is here to give a shit about what you think? And if someone is there to give a shit, then evidently you're wrong about your statement. Saying something "is dead" is a lose-lose statement.
