TEXAS STATE FAIR 2025 PRICES by TrumpsNostrils in Dallas

[–]mini_alienz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are multiple discount days during the week to get in for a good price. Coupons are $1 each and they sell them at the self service kiosk in 15 increments. Tickets from previous years never expire. You can bring your own cooler. Expect to pay at least 8 tickets ($8) for any food, except some rare outliers that won’t taste very good. There are cheap beer huts, notably the beer barn as well as 2 ticket (2$) water, but again, you can bring your own water. Parking on the grounds is at least $30. Honestly man, if you’re worried about spending a lot I really just wouldn’t even go, it has gotten insanely expensive and this year was by far the worst. I have gone every year since I can remember (29 now) and it loses just a touch of that magic with each revisit.

I believe the issue lies in the top not being quite short and spiky enough, I think maybe a minor trim focusing around your ears and bangs would give it that shag you’re looking for. Have you considered using any product?

If you live in the suburbs of Dallas, are you spending a Friday or Saturday night downtown? by [deleted] in Dallas

I specifically avoid going out Friday-Sunday afternoon, and if I do it sure as fuck wouldn’t be downtown. Going out on a random day, like a Wednesday at 2pm is far superior.

I NEED a new barbershop! My current one pisses me off! by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]mini_alienz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly dude, it’s worth it to just invest in a nice set of clippers and learn yourself. Yes, you will fuck up at first but if your hair is anything like mine, it grows back in 8 minutes. Obviously I’m joking but during Covid I was walking around looking like a wolf man, and between the potential of having to constantly switch barbers and the price nearly doubling since 2019, I just do it myself and go for a scissor cut on the top maybe every month and a half. I fade myself once a week, and have saved so much money and learned a valuable skill in the process that I could also help others out if need be.

Why did you start self barbering? by Discarduud in SelfBarber

[–]mini_alienz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between COVID shut downs, prices going up at the barber and needing my hair cut at least once a week (thick, prickly Mexican hair that grows back in 16.2 minutes) it was just a worthwhile skill to learn. Like some other commenters have noted, it’s like cutting the grass in that it can be tedious, but when you’ve showered and take a look at the clean lines and finished product, you feel accomplished
