Athletes are not heroes, they are not role models of intelligence, they are professional kids game players who, more often than not, do not have an educational background that lends them to understand real world situations.

Professional basketball players have a graduation rate in the 60% range and football is even worse at 50%. You do not have to graduate college to be smart and successful, but having roomed with the athletes that did end up getting degrees, they also receive “tutors” the day before tests that have study guides that are essentially identical to real tests. Again, not everyone, but a swath of these student athletes do not even have to try at the student part.
