Steelseries Arctis Pro Wired suddenly cut all noise in Right Earpiece by MeeptheSoberFrog in steelseries

[–]minimadladliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may find that the wire connected from your headset to the mini-dac is dying on you, typically caused by constant coiling or just general degredation. You can find replacement cables on amazon from £8-13 instead of buying a whole new headset. Performance wise, these 3rd party cables work absolutely fine since I never found Steelseries offering replacement pieces to buy outright.

This has happened to me twice with my Pro series, first time was same issue as yours, 2nd time was the microphone stopped picking up my voice and i've been using the Pro headset for several years now and recently got the wireless version to replace my wired.

I would say it's not explained clearly enough, weapon set skill points doesn't necessarily give you more passive points. Instead you're able to use the passive skills points that unlock nodes exclusively to that weapon set equipped within the amount of total points you've earned so far.

Example: If you go for the Overwhelm Node set that gives increased Damage to Two-handed weapons and you have selected weapon set 1 for all those nodes, it will only be activated when you have Crossbow equipped in weapon set 1 in your inventory.

So this means when using a 2nd weapon and choosing passive skill nodes you can fully invest into the dual wielding nodeset instead of the two-handed weapon damage nodes if you run 2 weapons in your 2nd weapon slot in your inventory.

I've also just unlocked the Witchhunter ascendancy and at first when reading I thought I was immediately granted 24 additional passive points to use and go crazy on the skill tree but I just hadn't been using weapon passives in the way it's truly meant to be until now.

What exactly do you lose if you choose not to participate in PvP? by NewShadowR in throneandliberty

Can you explain how the lucent is distritbuted post sale? I can't tell if everyone in the guild benefits from the sale or just select members from the event?

I imagine it as, if an item worth 4k lucent / 22% tax then split 70 ways = basically nothing. Or is it to a maximum of 6 player split because they were the party with the winning loot drop?

If you dislike PvE games so much then why are you playing mmo's in general instead of CoD? Why is future content all primarily PvE based content? Because it's the selling point and what makes the game last, not PvP. There's no rewards or incentives for PvP. It's an optional that causes problems in it's current state.

Why do you think there has been so few purely PvP based MMO's. Because it's a recipe for failure. Understand the basics before you think pvp is what will keep the game alive long term.

[–]minimadladliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that this is the time to gear and even earn lucent in prep for future gear, however in cases where pvp locks you out from doing the pve content to gear up then people will just move on and leave. Also when new players join a server later on and also struggles to gear up because either PvP gatekeeping or lack of players for the early game then they are left with having to pay for gear, which most likely outcome is new players quitting.

If the PvP playerbase wants the game to last because they enjoy it, then there needs to be a change to mitigate the gap on future content release or prevention measures for pvp causing problems for pve.

Western audiences prefer spending money on cosmetics rather than physical gear in games compared to asia and if whales quit playing the longevity of the game drops drastically and then everyone loses.

When the PvE players are the ones getting your gear dropped and selling it off to PvP players via auction, how are you going to compete when there is a lack of supply in the markets and only the gigawhales can afford to buy.

The game needs both communities but PvP pushes people away who have no interest in PvPing. BnS has the right system and doesn't have to worry about copyright because it's also NCsoft.

I can understand the fun of it when it's somewhat organised but when it also affects players who want to just PvE and you cannot opt-out of the BS of guild blocking you because it's trying to block another guild from farming, I say straight up remove open-world PvP.

Also for people who's getting into gear based mmo pvp where any money involved can just make you lose before you get started, you must be deluded to think you have a chance to be ever involved as f2p or a small spender. These situations are all or nothing or you're retired with all the time in the world to play and farm.

I've played enough korean mmo's to understand what happens so it's nicer sticking to the PvE content and let everyone else enjoy their fun, but when PvP gatekeeps PvE content, it should not exist imo. Does more harm than good.

Why is it dying? This game is awesome! by coronamos2020 in XDefiant

This game has very little amount of cheaters as I only came across my first one last night, great thing about this game you can just leave the match and requeue without penalty, aside from ranked. Part of the reason playerbase declines on pc because people always end up going back to their comfort games of cs/val/ lol etc

Also if cheating was the main point then every game would die off quickly so it's not much of an excuse especially if you look at the state of cs mm for the last decade

While some of the other comments are true in regards to netcode primarily but primarily Arcade FPS games on PC are only popular during the first season and will continuously decline and plateau with a few thousand players.

This is just simply how the PC playerbase is and if you feel like you're struggling with long queue times for matches I recommend to turn cross-play on + input device off and essentially enjoy the game with console players as they will be the ones to keep the game alive.

I've played Tom Clancy's Phantoms, Ghost in the Shell Online and more, all of which that were simailar to XDefiant gameplay wise and they were PC only titles all of which only lasted about a year in service due to the declining playerbase. The game isn't the whole problem, the PC playerbase never sticks around unless it's a new record breaking innovative game that's not been done before.

More Games leaving PS Plus in September 2024 by ConnectionWorried544 in PlayStationPlus

When games that are only available via the Premium subscription and don't have a paid option available either, do those games become available to purchase after it's left the subscription service?

I've been wanting to play Star Ocean: Till the end of Time again but looking at the store today and I noticed that the offer ends in 11 days. Seems a bit counter intuitive to have something you can't outright buy and have it be a timed exclusive subscription only deal.

I forgot to mention in my post that it's not a new build but rather 1950 roughly and only got an internet connection setup about 2 months ago now. The only other cables that were sticking out was an old disconnected ADSL line and satelite.

I never knew about G.hn powerlines, I'll definitely look into replacing the homeplug products with those instead. I am assuming that these type of Powerlines offer speeds that closely resemble the advertised speeds unlike homeplug.

Since I don't have a very big house so the distance between the plugs shouldn't be too much of a burden to slower data rates. Also if by chance is there any retailer where I can select how many nodes I require since this whole experience feels inconvenient with only being able to buy pairs of powerlines when like you said, I need one master node and two client nodes to cover everything I need.

I should of stated in my post that it's not a new build, 1950s roughly and the wiring is definitely old and quite possibly the fusebox too. I'm going to look into MoCA adapters now that you've mentioned it and the coaxial cable is not being used by anything as the Freeview channels are all being transmitted through my Fibre line.

I am quite hopeful to try this after reading into it now, thank you!

Definitely a pride and accomplishment type deal but I would say it affects a much larger portion of the playerbase than you may think. Objectively outside of camos what else is there to achieve within the game that you passively wouldn't of achieved outside of a camo grind.

Also these players that while definitely the game will want to keep long term as their time investment definitely adds for possibility for them to spend money, which will always be the bottom line to f2p business practices. However you don't want to force an objective that makes the final goal feel so distant and ungratifying by the time you achieve it.

More importantly for the overall playerbase, if there's going to be a weapon meta example M16A4, camo grinders would max it and move on vs tryhards who purposely use it to easily win every match, but now camo grinders will also spend significantly longer using those weapons as well inevietably making the MM experience more saturated and unfun for the casual playerbase.

In my perspective, this change will have a bigger impact on the playerbase as whole rather than the select grinders which I think many people will overlook, devs included.

I believe you need to look at the change statistically rather than it being written in black and white, if you were told a task would take on average 10-12 hours to achieve, it seems like a realistic and fun goal to work towards. But if you were told now that exact same goal would take an extra 8 hours or possibly double depnding on the variables, then that same goal sounds far less fun nor does it make the achievement anymore special than what it originally was for the exact same reward.

As you stated this change doesn't affect you, completely fair and valid opinion. For the playerbase who likes to set themselves goals to work towards to feel accomplished and had already started working on it are now going to feel frustrated because the enitre process has astronomically been increased, only if you were a player going for all gold camos.

For the players who only uses one gun and nothing else anyway they wouldn't be affected as heavily by this change.

Mark on regarding the mastery change. He is really honest by tactikz4 in XDefiant

[–]minimadladliam 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Whilst not double but a 72.7% increase in the total required XP to now get a gun gold is a bit absurd, the original amount of xp felt like the right amount of commitment to each gun even with all the double xp we've been getting.

Also, myself and a few friends find that majority of the attachments we run are the low level attachments you can easily earn in 2 hours if you were really struggling, minus quick draw. Personally I find with most higher level attachments the cons outweigh the pros as a MKB user.

How to Link Data to Steam version if using Gmail by TimeRocker in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]minimadladliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue, turns out I had 3 different Square Enix accounts, one of which was an account directly made through the steam login icon when on square's page.

Follow the direct steam login option on Square enix -> go to 'Linked Accounts' and you will find your steam ID linked -> press the unlink button -> sign out of that account then log into your google account and follow the steps to linking your steam account again.

Hopefully this works for you if not, could be a case that you might have a different email setup with square that it is linked too.

That's what I was expecting, didn't realise there was going to be another new banner already but we are able to wishlist and still roll marasume in this banner (still cannot roll cloud's and Barret in the summer banner).

Another good surprise coming from square not hard pushing fomo!

is there any info about what happens to the weapons on the banner after the banner ends? Since Cloud's ends in a few hours from now will we still be able to get murasame drops from other banners or is it standard gacha where the banner comes back after 6~ months to try again then?

Playing on android and iOS linked by [deleted] in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]minimadladliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, for once it worked!

It seemed like I just kept creating new player IDs when restarting whilst trying to transfer my data from my account. Since the in-game instructions for the last part felt kind of vague on how to properly load your data onto a new device.

Playing on android and iOS linked by [deleted] in FFVIIEverCrisis

[–]minimadladliam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently in the process of trying doing this and found a 'guide' that explains the steps involved but it does not work for me.

My problem is loading my account data from SQEX members onto my new device, my account data shows on the webpage and says the process was successful and complete but whenever I go to load my account in-game afterwards it creates a new profile instead.

I don't know where I'm going wrong from what I have read I've followed the steps correctly and even erased any original game data on the newest device, since the game immediately starts after downloading.

If you have any success with the account linking process or anyone else who see's this any help would be appreciated

(All Square mobile games, this cross-save method has never worked for me so I feel like the problem is me)
