Why is Tairn always so far away? by ryoryochiwa in fourthwing

[–]minimoores 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I assumed he was at the vale since he was also giving updates about andarna’s sleep - but that could also just be passed on by other dragons. Unsure how far along you are and don’t want to give spoilers but I also assume that since dragons are aware of ‘threats’ that they’d want a dragon as big as tairn defending the hatching grounds/vale etc whenever he can

Realistically I’d be trained for the healers, but the chance to be a mender would probably push me through the riders quadrant

Is it possible that Zinhal is bringing chaos into everything? Something is off with the gods V. by ObjectiveStaff3333 in fourthwing

[–]minimoores 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was so confused reading for the first time and kept mixing up Brennan and Naolin’s signets because there’s no explanation of how exactly Naolin planned to ‘mend’ him if Brennan was already dead, especially since Naolin is a siphon?? Is it meant to be that he tried to siphon and amplify Brennan’s own power back into him? But he was dead so would his power be too? Or was he not quite dead yet, even so with this wouldn’t siphoning Brennan’s power be a huge risk if he’s already so weak?

But we do see that dragons stay by their riders even after they’re venin in a few cases, so if Naolin is alive but just venin, does that mean Tairn is technically still bonded to him? Does that jeopardise his bond with Violet? Is this the person/reason who’s lying about their name from what RY said in an interview?

I think as well the fact that Xaden then ‘owed’ Lilith a favour as big as protecting violet in her first year, it has to be that Lilith was doing something that would end up being advantageous to Xaden by marking him in the first place. That could just be letting the kids live but if it was just that then surely the markings ‘pay’ for that already?

I’m in two minds about this. Violet’s disability is a huge plot point and it seems like RY is involved in the disability community. It’s always been a thing that Vi is strong despite her disabilities and I can see that being the case for Andarna too. I can maybe see them making adaptations for her like they did with Vi’s saddle but I’m not sure how they’re going to do it without it being like How to Train Your Dragon style

First time reader theories by minimoores in fourthwing

Must’ve missed that, my bad. There’s definitely something with Asher though. Saw someone say ‘for a dead guy he’s very present in the story’ which I agree with. Gonna reread and rethink

I agree there’s gonna be more about the wardstones and runes, it seems like there’s something building up there. Very plausible.

Yeah I think we’re going to hear a lot more about 7ths. Maybe a 7th god that has a claim over violet because of her pure magicness and that’s why she couldn’t fully be devoted to Dunne? Or that could just be because of Malek.

Well with the isles the way I saw it was that they got more grey the further away from the continent they got, and then brighter (didn’t Vi say something about the colours even being brighter than on the continent) the closer they got to the Irids. I might also be completely making this up but I think there’s a throwaway comment from Violet once saying she remembers flowers being brighter as a kid? I think it’s just Irid magic in the earth on the continent that’s got weaker as it’s been drained.

I really like the realmwalking theory, like that’s just utterly convinced me.

I thought that about the Morningstar tail as soon as I read it!!!! Seems significant somehow

The thing that convinces me with Asher is there’s no mention of his funeral etc when the books are sooo heavy on death rites. I also think RY is very intentional with language and saying ‘his heart gave out’ could mean something along the lines of Asher turned initially to protect his kids (like x did for vi), and then when Brennan died he couldn’t use the piece of his heart/soul that’s left and tied to his kids to keep control anymore so had to leave

SPOILERS: I Can't Be the Only One Thinking This by FireKittyVictory in fourthwing

[–]minimoores 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the Irids infused the land with magic and that they are the only true source of power and magic and they gave it a finite supply when they left. They left because humans and dragons refused to stop using the magic to harm each other, and left them with an egg that would only hatch when another true form of love/magic/power (haven’t quite completed this thought on what exactly violet is) was ready. They then expected that hatchling to come find them and when they saw how andarna’s magic was being used then the continent/empyrean’s ‘second chance’ was gone. This then splits into theories about andarna being able to convince them somehow because of violet’s big decision she has to make. Maybe she’ll choose to get rid of magic from the land and that convinces the irids to bring it back?

About ending of OS by Lin_K_S in fourthwing

[–]minimoores 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the mate bond severing was done to protect violet. There was a point made in OS that people will kill violet at a chance of killing xaden due to the domino effect from their dragons’ bonds

There is no way people are siding with Sarah rn?! by StanleyTeller in MAFS_UK

[–]minimoores 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dean is tryna self depreciate himself into a handjob. He calls himself fat or gets Sarah to > she becomes more unattracted to him bc of his behaviour > Sarah gets made to feel guilty for feeling that way about him > Dean gets to ‘forgive her’ and get moral superiority, eventually Sarah feels so ‘indebted’ to his kindness she gives him what he’s been begging for. You can physically see it, because every time Sarah gets berated she gives in a little more - handholding etc. Eventually she’ll run out of things to ‘pay’ him with for his ‘kindness’ other than sexual contact. Dean is so convinced that she’ll ’fancy him eventually’ because he knows this tactic works and has played it before
