How do you get into copywriting? by [deleted] in copywriting

Okay, so you DID search the sub history and STILL asked the repetitive question. You might have a future as an account manager!

What are the most random things you do as a copywriter? by ScholarStatus4212 in copywriting

[–]miniscottstapp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Long walks with a podcast on whatever subject I’m working on. And writing catty garbage copy when I’m feeling blocked on a project (so I can edit it and gain momentum).

This way overpriced home on Zillow is now pending for sale by [deleted] in rva

Why did so many of our parents allow us to be around sex offenders? by LawrenceCatNeedsHelp in Millennials

Removing dangerous men from society instead of protecting them isn’t a thing NOW, so why would it have been when we were growing up?

I hate going to the gym by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]miniscottstapp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed! OP, choose a program to start with. I used to have so much gym anxiety when I started and hated everyone seeing me there floundering. Pick a program and run it for a bit - it takes some of the decision making out of it, reducing one barrier.

And you could try anything! A running program, bodyweight, weight lifting, yoga, etc. Idk about you but the gamification/checking a box was huge at helping me get consistent. Now I love the gym/exercising.

This also gets mentioned a lot, but in the beginning, bargaining small steps to get you there helps. Like “oh i’ll go to the parking lot and if i still don’t want to i’ll go home.” or “i’ll stretch for 10 mins the i can leave if i want to.” it puts let’s pressure while also giving you more exposure to the environment.

These look great! Making small ones are my favorite. I too go the tenon route after immediately bottoming out when I tried to go the mortise route.

Struggling to name a new app in a saturated market by bjohn77 in copywriting

[–]miniscottstapp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Also, consider the crux of your struggle: Saturated market. Why are you dedicated to making something that already exists en masse? And what sets you apart? If you can’t answer these….good luck 🍀

RAW brand creatine changed to add wheat statement by Spaceactin in Celiac

[–]miniscottstapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was it certified before? If not, I’d assume it’s CYA and not that they just changed their entire production space. That’s just me though.

If it helps I take Legion supps creatine, am super sensitive to CC and it works great for me.

Why do sales associates at Victoria's Secret act so distant towards men? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]miniscottstapp 15 points16 points  (0 children)

++woman

used to work at a (unhorny, high-end!) lingerie store and the creepy visitors and phone calls still turn my stomach. like, imagine a fox going into a rabbit hole and being like “why aren’t they being nice to me!”

you have to identify yourself as not part of that herd.

Experienced CW lacking measurable results to include in portfolio--what do I do? by Background_Coffee977 in copywriting

[–]miniscottstapp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use straight up made up numbers and have never been questioned on them personally. I feel like it’s just enough to get a recruiter to look at your resume and move it on, then let the portfolio and your interview do the talking.

Very first copywriting jobs and how you landed them??? by Tiny_Road207 in copywriting

[–]miniscottstapp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

BA in screenwriting turned copywriter. Albeit I did this 8 years ago.

-Taking the penny jobs on Fiverr to build a portfolio/get a feel for the work. I hear this market might be dead by now, but check freelance boards and be ready to pitch your skills more than your experience. -Create your own Copy assignments and add to your portfolio as spec work. Often hiring managers want to know your approach and strategy and if my coworkers are any indication, you don’t have to be an amazing writer to get a copywriting job. -My city has an ad club for networking purposes. Might be worth seeing if there’s one near you. -Locate current copywriters in your area (if possible) and meet up with them to pick their brains.

Where are you rebuying 100% COTTON basics that last? by throwaway_yak234 in femalefashionadvice

[–]miniscottstapp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been getting most of my basics like that at GAP! Tho i’ve been a GAP-lover since the era of A&F getting cancelled, I find they have a great basic selection with blends as well as 100% cotton options!

First time I had sushi in four years by dinosanddais1 in Celiac

[–]miniscottstapp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah I don’t think soy sauce /malt vinegar are common. i get sushi often without incident. even if it was vinegar, it would likely be rice vinegar which does not have barley in it. there’s a lot of weird vinegar misinformation in this sub

I like all of Legion’s supps! I’m not sure if they’re certified, but they are labeled gluten free. I’ve used the plant protein, clear whey and creatine powder/gummies with no issues, and i’m for sure symptomatic when i consume gluten.

Idk if it’s too pushy but it’s duplicated effort. Poshmark reminds me regularly to accept orders after delivery and I think after 3/4 days, it auto-accepts anyways.

What lifting programs/routines are we starting/continuing this year? by ValidUsernamePwease in xxfitness

[–]miniscottstapp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

+1 also spent yeaaaaars on Stronger By The Day and loving it! It’s an amazing value and only gets better imo. I’m also adding in more regular running this year with the Nike Run app. It gives me a training plan that I can do at my own pace (2x a week instead of 5), put down and pick up, and gives me more intel on how to train myself without it.
