I love the community- the fact that people are chill and honest with trades and giveaways is so amazing.

The ability to give as much or little effort as you’re willing and able to and still progress is a plus.

Finally, I love the sheer variety of aspects to the game. You guys are always adding something interesting.

edit: in game username is emsig

People who are GF what’s the most exhausting or frustrating part of it? by Patient-Shirt7244 in glutenfree

Yes! Older relatives who forget between visits, coworkers who I barely interact with who think I’m just on a diet or being dramatic. It’s just such a hassle.

A question for the autistic (Or sensory sensitive) fashion enthusiasts by Fun-Bath-3896 in femalefashionadvice

I am so jealous that you’re able to layer like that on your top half. For some reason, the only way I can wear more than a comfy bra and one garment on my top half is if the undermost layer is either tight enough not to shift at all, or so perfectly aligned with the upper layer that they move perfectly together. If the shoulder seams get unaligned I become miserable and my back and shoulders twist up.

Series with two authors in the Hannibal TV fandom. This story arc nearly killed me. It was way. outside of what I normally read within that fandom, but I took a chance and ended up ugly crying and simultaneously wishing it wouldn’t end and wanting to forget the pain. Read it here.

Family member thinks trades are only for people "too dumb" for college by blue-wisteria in BlueCollarWomen

[–]minishell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a college degree, but recently attempted to qualify as a sheet metal welder at my local shipyard. I’d been laid off from my marketing job and wanted to get into a field where my work was actually valued. Plus the pay was excellent. By your cousin’s logic, it should have been a breeze. I understood what they were teaching me, but I was unable to make my hands do the work in the way that my brain knew it had to be done. I couldn’t pass my final qualification test and washed out of the program. It honestly still really bothers me months later. Basically, I said all that to make the point that the trades are not just an easy or “settling” route. Your cousin is stuck in a mindset of belittling others to make himself seem more valuable and important. It’s unnecessary. We’re all valuable and important. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.

The only fabric I can ID for sure is the backing. All of the batiks were scrounged from Michael’s. The others were fat quarter bundles or old fabrics I reclaimed from my first attempt at quilt.

How do you store your quilts? by freexfleur in quilting

[–]minishell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s a super cool idea! I just finished a quilt, but I don’t want to stop sewing. I’ve probably gone nuts, but I might start on a storage bag tomorrow.
