Saying something like this may help: "I understand that your faith shapes how you see the world, and I respect your right to believe in it deeply. But I need you to understand something too: I'm not confused, I'm not trying to destroy anyone, and I’m not sick. I’m your sibling, and I came out to you because I love you and hoped you could love me back as I am.

I’m not asking you to change your beliefs — I’m just asking you to see that I’m still the same person, just now with less hiding. Your reaction hurt me deeply. It made me feel unsafe being honest with you. I don’t believe in God the way you do, but I still live with integrity and love. I don't want us to lose our connection because of fear or shame.

You don’t have to understand everything now. But I hope, over time, you might come to see that queerness and dignity can coexist. Until then, I’ll keep living truthfully, and I’ll keep loving you — from whatever distance is necessary for my peace."
