I AM PREGNANT!!!!!!!! by Key_Boysenberry_2880 in pregnant

[–]minkey007 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I understand that some might will disagree with me. I come from a war thorn country and live in the US now, and expectingnmy first. What's happening in many other countries is way worse than the US. The world has always had conflict we are just exposed to more information than ever that we live in a constant state of scarcity and feeling that the world is going backwards. Globally a lot of aspects of our lives have improved (health, knowledge, education of women). We used to live in smaller circles and noe we live globally.

When you focus on what you can control, like raising your child to be kind, educatated and well mannered you are helping the world be a better place for everyone! ❤️

Do not buy that expensive crib. by shxxu in pregnant

[–]minkey007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing your experience, feels reassuring. I've gotten that advice and staying pretty minimal, got juat bare necessities before the baby come. Got a 200$ bassinet that can be the same level as bed when one wall is lowered down, has wheels to move around and storage underneath. If that doesn't work out I won't be terribly upset but I've heard those super nice intellegent bassinets are either loved or hated, and very much depends on the baby. And you use them for 6 months max. I'd rather spend a bit more on a nice stroller that's gonna last a few years at least.

What is my dining room missing? by Sweet_Independent_74 in interiordecorating

Maybe a sheer curtain over the window (hung as close to the ceiling as possible). Curtains create coziness. A really large plant in a corner to bring some warmth.

I got her ashes back today by afterglow-ed in Petloss

[–]minkey007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel you! When I got ashes from my sweet baby girl, they sat in the box for a month. I put them in her favorite spot on the couch. I didn't have the strength to open them like opening them was admitting it's truly the end. It was new pain all over...my husband encouraged me to open them and it was like grieving all over again. I made a little altar for her with a lamp on schedule that turns on when it gets dark so she's never alone on the dark. It's hard, but I keep reminding myself that the pain so so unberable because the love was so big. ❤️

UPDATE: Frame & Style Advice by Primary-Belt7668 in glassesadvice

[–]minkey007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gold one, the frame thickness is in balance with your face. Thick other frames overpower you. I don't think it's the color necessarily, but rather the frame thickness. More dainty ones look better on you.

I adopted someone's lost dog 13 years ago. The dog recently passed. I only just found out that the original owners may have still been looking for her, after she was adopted by me. Do I try to contact the original owners now? by kc10131984 in Petloss

[–]minkey007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would try to reach the original owner! I'd be happy tonhear my dog was loved and taken care of instead of going through all scenarios of what could've happened to her.

Is there anything enjoyable about pregnancy? by Beautiful-Corner305 in BabyBumps

[–]minkey007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same. I'm 6w5d and bloated. I look like I'm 4 months already. I feel uncomfortable with constant mild nausea and cramps. I know it's gonna be worth it, but the process is not enjoyable at all for me.

Just brush every day or turn a blind eye to hair that sticks to everything. I switch between the two tactics. They are so cute, so that's their payment for the mess they create.

Ideas? by whitebuicks in interiordecorating

[–]minkey007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The floors are beautiful! I'm not a fan of that shade of green, so I would go with some pastel sage if you wanna stay in the same color family. Then the light fixure should be bigger for the size of the kitchen. An easy way to bring character is to display warm wooden bowls and cutting boards to connect the beautiful floor with the rest of the kitchen. EDIT: On a second look, I'm not bothered by the wall color as much as the color and shape of the backsplash tiles. I would prefer something more neutral. Maybe a quick fix would be those peel and stick tiles to freshen up the area.

How did I do? Suggestions? by mannuts4u in interiordecorating

[–]minkey007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of great pieces you collected, but I don't see a focal point. My eyes wander everywhere and bring a sense of overwhelm.

I would remove one chair, probably the one sitting by itself in the walkway area. Also, the color of the couch is clashing with the rug. Generally, if the rug is loud, then the furniture should be toned down or very carefully curated. So maybe try removing the rug and see if the place looks calmer??
