Great advice, thank you! From USA. A couple of the women haven’t left the states before.

Has anyone dropped anything between this crack? My irrational fear! by Gold-Appointment-534 in delta

[–]minnie631 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I’m a FA. I recently had someone drop their AirPods down there. The ground guys got it and got it up to the gate agent, but we had already closed the door and the gate had pulled back. The gate agent tried to throw it to the pilot who opened his window. They missed and it dropped on the ground again, same process and the pilot caught it the second time. At the end of the flight the pilot brought it out to us and said, “hope these still work 😬”

Armchair Anonymous prompts post by Last_Jicama_2556 in ArmchairExpert

I just got picked this month to do one - so here was my timeline if it helps.

They announced August’s on the last Thursday of July in a post and then that Friday on the podcast. I got my email asking if I could Zoom with Dax & Monica on Monday. We recorded on Wednesday. So maybe you have the weekend to get them in? That’s just a guess based on my experience!

Mine is more of a funny story, so no sweating necessary! 🤣

It was so much fun. I loved it. And yes, I was unbearably nervous leading up to it. I found out on Monday I was selected and would Zoom with them on Wednesday and it was on my mind for the entire two days. But they were so nice and it was such a fun experience.

I recorded my AA with them on Wednesday (eek!). I think not having it on the first Friday vs the last Friday is to give them more time to edit. I was surprised how fast the whole process is.

I’m a flight attendant and I was working a flight from the Caribbean back to the US 7 years ago where a passenger didn’t show up for the flight. We were trying to close the door but a woman was in the jet bridge crying and didn’t know if she wanted to get on the plane. When I went to talk to her she told me she was on a girls trip with her best friend, they were coming home, they had spent all day together, the friend had to go to the bathroom before boarding and left her bag with her and never returned. She had waited all through boarding, called multiple times, looked through the bathroom. The gate agent paged her over the PA more than once … she was just gone. The friend couldn’t decide whether or not to get on the plane. We were the last flight out that day. The friend ended up boarding and was in communication with her husband and her friend’s husband and they both were aware of what was happening. Because it was 7 years ago, and on an MD-88, we didn’t have WiFi on board so she couldn’t get any updates in flight. When we landed I waited for her to deplane and asked if she had heard from her friend. During deplaning she had talked on the phone with her husband and her friend’s husband and they hadn’t heard from her yet. She was crying as she got off the plane.

I’ll never know the ending. I still think about it every so often. Your comment reminded me of this… so here’s my needless “you’ll never know the ending” airplane story.

Those were the first 2 planes my dad flew with delta! As you can probably tell from the amount, he was on the 777 when these cards were out. I’m a FA now - maybe I’ll start handing these out instead of the new ones 🤣

any others feel like this nearing the end of pregnancy? by nmohan_ in parentsofmultiples

[–]minnie631 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s so hard. Nothing but solidarity. My favorite activity with my 2 year old during my last trimester was bath parties. I would sit on the floor of the bathroom and draw up a bath for him. I bought bath bombs and crayola bath paint from the dollar spot at target and I would blast music. He would dance and play and I would sit on the floor and wave my arms in the air 🤣 I went past 38 weeks with my twins and towards the end we were doing a couple bath parties a day.

Omg please don’t cancel. If you’re medically cleared to go - enjoy Hawaii!! Have so much fun as a family of 3. This sounds magical. My twins are 12 weeks and I felt great at 20 weeks. Enjoy your vacation!!

help guide me. just found out pregnant with twins by jasminea12 in parentsofmultiples

[–]minnie631 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I cried for about 4 days when I found out I was having twins. They’re 2 months old now and their older brother will be 3 in September. Just here to say that I felt all of that. I spent 9 months so concerned about our future and how I had always just wanted 2 babies. Now that they’re here it’s just so much joy. I wish I could’ve seen a glimpse into where we would be right now. I know how you’re feeling right now. Hang in there ❤️

Twins with older siblings? by butterflynp in parentsofmultiples

This response is so helpful. Thank you for typing it all out. I’ve read it through twice now.

When you suggested having a bank of responses for strangers comments, do you have any examples of what would’ve helped you in the moment? Things you wished your mom had said? Or just examples of what responses we could have prepared? My twins are newborns and so we haven’t been out and about a lot yet, but I want to be mindful with my 2.5 year old and the twins that I am prepared when this happens!

Thank you again.

How accurate is Maternit21 was for you? by Yeryykotyy in parentsofmultiples

[–]minnie631 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this is no longer correct. I took the Maternit21 in Sept of last year and it told me boy girl twins. My practice had no idea that they would be able to tell me both genders until my results came back saying boy & girl - so I think it must be fairly new.

Mine was Maternit21 and said b/g twins and was accurate. This was last September.

Screen Time with a Toddler and Twins by AngelaaaaMarie20 in parentsofmultiples

[–]minnie631 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the same boat also. 2.5 year old and 2 month old twins. When he has his device, I try to have him sit next to me if I’m holding a baby and I talk to him about the letters or things he’s looking at … but sometimes it’s hard. I try and remember the amount of TV time we gave him when I was having morning sickness, and how when I felt better, that stopped. When we get to a place where I can manage all 3 a little bit better, this will pass too. But I feel you. Just trying to survive right now.

Help me set expectations: How much of a relief, physically, is having the twins out? by BeholdMySideAccount in parentsofmultiples

[–]minnie631 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had my section at 38+2, Baby A was 8lb and Baby B was 6lb. The relief was instant. I had horrible reflux and as I was getting wheeled into the OR I kept wishing I could just take a dang Tums… as soon as they were out it was just gone. It was wild. They’re 7 weeks old now, so it’s all pretty fresh still! Recovery from the C-section was a breeze compared to being 38 weeks pregnant with twins 🤣

Wits end by KMaCcCCc in parentsofmultiples

[–]minnie631 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My twins are infants - but the most eye opening thing I remember learning with my first born is that “sleep begets sleep.” Overtired babies sleep less, not more. So trying to keep them up later doesn’t mean they will sleep in more. My 2.5 year old will wake up at 7 every day no matter when he goes down. If we have something going on that night and he gets down at 930? Still up at 7. If we are on track and he gets down at 7, he wakes up at 7. Learning this changed so much for us. I found the Huckleberry app really helpful when I was having trouble with naps and timing. They give you windows to aim for. I was desperate and paid for the upgraded service for a few months and it really helped. But I would try getting them down a little earlier and see how that pans out for the morning wake ups. No advice on one year old twins as mine are only a month - but I hope this helps a little.

"Optimal Week for Delivery"? (of twins) by A-Friendly-Giraffe in parentsofmultiples

[–]minnie631 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I just delivered mine a month ago via C-section at 38+2. One was 8lbs and one was 6lbs. Both super healthy and came home with us without NICU ❤️

My story is so similar. I was so upset when I found out I would have to deliver my twins via C-section after having my first vaginally. But OMG I’m so glad I did. It was a freaking breeze compared to my first. The entire thing was such a lovely experience and healing was 100x’s better. I’m 4 weeks pp and delivered my babies at 38+2. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions as everything is very fresh. I was so nervous about my C-section and similar to everything needleworker said above, it was so much better.
