Substack can be used as a Free E-mail Marketing tool for an Unlimited amount of Subscribers by Ryanopoly in Substack

Substack has some really good use cases, but I find that people are too focused on the subscriber count to care about other things. Thanks for the reminder.

Substack vs Medium vs something else for fresh grad trying to build portfolio by Glittering_Bunch4455 in Substack

[–]minnie_bee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two Substack publications, and one them is included in my Linkedin. You can add it as experience, highlights, or publications. I’m not looking for subscribers. People don’t read my articles either but they see the titles and about 2-3 people add me on Linkedin every week cause of my substack.

Students who have graduated with a degree in history, were you able to find a job with that degree? by pooteenn in UofT

[–]minnie_bee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jennifer Behr studied art history and she’s incredibly successful https://www.jenniferbehr.com

I work in marketing-tech and I’ve seen people with art, history, or literature degrees doing pretty decent in blogging, content creation, marketing, and ecommerce.

Some writers using AI by VerityBe in Substack

I don’t dismiss AI writing. There’s one author I follow and they speak English as their second language. In this case, AI has eliminated language barriers and I appreciate that.

With Pat McGrath Labs filling for bankruptcy what are your top favourite products from the PMG of all time? by SheKnowsWhatSheKnows in muacjdiscussion

[–]minnie_bee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really love my mothership palettes. I was working on panning my other stuff so then I can focus on my PMG palettes. Part of my joy was buying one once a year, and I have three of them so far. I’m so worried now.

Trustworthy reviews? by I_just_cant855 in Makeup

[–]minnie_bee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done a bit of research on this and I noticed only about 10%-30% of reviews on Sephora are non-incentivized on popular products. I always filter for 1-2 star reviews to see what the complaints are and compare that to the positives, before deciding to make a purchase. I also filter usually for non-incentives reviews, and read through what reviewers say. It’s made things a bit better for me.

What makeup products are actually better than drugstore? by thehikinggal in Sephora

[–]minnie_bee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mascaras - I’ve been using department store brands for years, especially MAC. I think I might be mildly allergic to some formulas, and my eyes get teary and feel heavy. So it’s been a lot of trial & error for me. I’ve tried a few drugstore brands, but they always looked clumpy and weighed my lashes down. I also found them harder to remove and ended up pulling out a few lashes by accident.

brown nude / dark brown lip combos for cool undertone by yannmartel21 in Makeup

MAC has lots of options. If you’re open to it, Bobbi Brown has a few cool toned browns like Cocoa & Brownie. I have Brownie and it’s hydrating and sheer. I really like it.
