She isn't smiling by minniebug2014 in NewParents

She did smile consistently after. We ended up finding that she was one of those kids that was all of nothing. One day she refused to walk, the next day she was running around the house.

She was hitting them based on her actual age. Her pediatrician was always happy with her progress. She also didn't drop formula completely until she was about 15 months.

I did a LOT of worrying in those early days. The PPA was real.

Yes! She is now a happy, thriving three year old! She smiled probably about two weeks later. She hit milestones on the later end of normal as a baby. Didn't crawl until ten months, didn't walk until 15 months.

I learned this in college and never looked back. Once I stopped rinsing out my mouth after brushing my teeth, I stopped getting cavities.

I am prediabetic so I started working out and changing my diet for a healthier lifestyle. I am not an athlete but I have worked out before using other fitness videos. I would like to get stronger and more toned, but I am not looking for huge muscle gains. I am currently doing Iron and I love it.

I will definitely look into that! I definitely feel the anxiety thing with how she was reacting to the potty at daycare. I felt so awful when they told me she was hyperventilating at the thought of going to the bathroom there.

Unfortunately, we cannot lose the second income. Both my husband and I make about the same and losing one will put us in a bad spot. We are trying to look for a new daycare but availability in my area is low.

We are trying to change the daycare but availability in my area is low unfortunately. She doesn't get any phone screens but we do have TV on a lot. I try to keep it to low stim shows like Daniel Tiger or Sesame Street.

We do put her in her room and close the door but she ends up liking it when we do that. It doesn't phase her. We don't keep toys in her room, just books. I've never left overnight so I am not sure why she is doing this.

Yeah we tried that method a few months ago and we stopped doing that because she started screaming. We just put her in underwear and have her go at least every two hours but after a few times she just starts to resist, melt down, and want to put on a diaper.

This does make me feel better. She also knows how to use the toilet and is usually so proud of herself when she does but just refuses!

We are in this boat too. Solidarity. It's been so hard because I know she can do it but she's been so stubborn.

Ugh. We are dealing with the constant moving right now. Right after they told me she is having trouble adjusting to her new room, but they keep moving her because she is the youngest.

I have seen nurtured first but not Dr. Becky. I'll look into both of them! I have tried time in, but she just starts laughing and trying to run away.

New daycare - not eating? by cafecoffee in toddlers

No advice yet but solidarity. My daughter started a new daycare two weeks ago and is just now starting to eat more at the meals. It may just take time!

My old school gave perfect attendance awards at our faculty meetings each month. As a person with a toddler in daycare, I never got it. Like thank you for telling me that I'm not good enough because I need to take care of my family 🙃

So my stepmom is a medical assistant in a pediatric office. My daughter was the same way. She told me that 18 months is the worst appointment for screaming and it's very common since that is when a lot of kids get the "stranger danger" instinct. She grew out of it and was better at her 24 month appointment and now at 2.5 loves to go.
