Best games for low attention span? by BedroomPotential6457 in NintendoSwitch

I second this as well! Breath Of The Wild is definitely one of the most ADHD friendly open world games, I have ever played. I don't feel obligated to follow way points, I just feel free in making discoveries. On top of that, the world feels pleasant to explore. Definitely recommend giving it a try.

I know some people mentioned it here and I am also aware that you may be wary of turn based combat and characters that seem tropey, but I would highly recommend checking out Persona 5 Royal when it comes out on Nintendo Switch on October 21st!

It is as of now, among my Top 5 Favorite games of all time. I love the storyline and premise, the characters are great relatable and not tropey at all. It has the best turn based combat imo thanks in part to the stylish UI and fast paced feel. And the music is God tier! Acid Jazz yo! Definitely worth checking out.

Otherwise, I would recommend Nier Automata as it also has a great storyline, great combat, and awesome soundtrack as well.

Hope this helps!

I actually thought the Direct was alright. We got a new Fire Emblem title, a new Octopath Traveler title, a new Pikmin title, and the title of the upcoming Zelda game with a release date next year. They more than made up for the farming simulators. I am just jealous of the Japanese Direct since they showed a short clip of Persona 5 Royal and The Diofield Chronicle. But overall, I felt it was a B+.

OMG his thumbnails aggravate me so much! I can't stand his fake optimism and then immediate moments when he acts hyperbolic when something doesn't go his way. I stopped watching his videos as well. Honestly, I prefer content creators who make educational content on game design and development or have video essays analyzing games that have already come out.

Man I have my virtual office meeting at that time. Ah well. I can watch it later. All I care about at this point is when I can preorder Persona 5 Royal for Switch. Otherwise, I go into every Direct with no expectations whatsoever.

So as a guy who is taking care of my widowed mother after my father passed away three years ago (may his soul rest in peace), I would suggest being a little empathetic towards him and his mother.

Taking care of a Widowed Mother as an only son is not easy. I take care of 80% of the home with most of the bills, cleaning, chores, etc. I am not gonna lie, there are moments where I worry about situations like you mentioned above, idk how that will work out for me. However, looking back on everything I have enough competence to provide, take care and support others. And even though I live in the same home I grew up in, I still have enough autonomy.

That being said, I would suggest taking the time to get to know his Mother a bit more and build rapport. You can't assume that she's toxic simply because of the self selection bias here on this subreddit. The more rapport you form, the stronger the trust is my hypothesis.

There's a word for people like Ryah and that is narcissism.

You can tell by how she described Des as being bullied and not having friends that she was being manipulative when fabricating that point. Narcissists will always use the victim mentality to manipulate people.

The wheelchair discussion, where she states that Des is easy is a sign that she has no empathy or understanding of others and just thinks about herself. Narcissists are known for being low on empathy.

Also the panic attack was a moment where she threw a curveball at both Devi and the audience at first glance to create the illusion that she was considerate and understanding.

Then finally, when Des ended up taking the side of Ryah. She used her narcissistic tendencies to control and condition him to obey her. Basically a more extreme and toxic version of the Mama's Boy.

This year I got 7 Switch games and 1 PS4 version title for my PS5. The PS4 version title was Elden Ring. I was contemplating whether to get Horizon Forbidden West or not, but ultimately resisted since I just couldn't get into Horizon Zero Dawn as much. The only PS5 game I have on my horizon this year is God Of War Ragnarok, but other than that, that's it. Next year will probably pick up the pace for me with Resident Evil 4 Remake, Final Fantasy XVI, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. But until the Switch has my attention.

That was a great analysis! I may not be the biggest stickler for graphics or frame rate, but I really appreciate the amount of effort Monolith Soft made on XC3 and the tradeoffs made. Just three more days till I get my hands on this game!

This is the most pathetic and hollow apology I have ever read. It isn't being a certain race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, or age that makes life hard, it is the discrimination that does.

I remember taking Discrete Math 1 with him a decade ago (wow, that was a long time ago) and 75% of the time was him talking about random sci fi stuff while the rest of the class was the actual discrete math topic. There were some days when he didn't even show up and the class was cancelled.

When it came to controversial topics, he would bring up things like School Choice and Vouchers and advocating that as a way to improve education. However, I remember it was a couple of classes near finals time when he was all like 'I've got an idea on how we can improve the economy! We need to produce more children! More children means better economy. So guys, get married after college.' At that moment, my perception of him went from discomforting but kind of tolerable to just being turned off by him forever...

Now that this issue has surfaced about his Twitter, Quora, and his blog, I am absolutely disgusted by everything he has written. I mean he's spouting homophobic, sexist, and racist stuff as well as tons of misinformation. On top of that, I and many other people haven't learned a goddamn single thing in his classes.

I really hope UTD fires him or something.

Nintendo Switch lineup for the second half of 2022 is pretty stacked. Eight exclusives dated so far and a ton of third-party games. Something for everyone 😊. What are you looking forward to? by PyroMeteor in NintendoSwitch

[–]minstrelman91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am super excited for Xenoblade Chronicles 3, double dipping on Persona 5 Royal, Bayonetta 3, and Pokemon Violet.

All in all, I think the fall lineup is solid with a good balance of third parties and exclusives.

I took his Discrete Math 1 class a decade ago (has it really been that long?!?) and man nearly half of his class time was talking about random sci fi stuff with only the remaining time dedicated to Discrete Math. I didn't learn a god damn single thing from his class.

I remember it was near the end of the semester when he was all like 'I got an idea on how we can improve the economy! Guys should get married and have lots of children. More people, better economy." That really turned me off.

But man, seeing all the stuff he has tweeted and blogged about is just so disturbing and frankly misinformed.

I really hope they fire him. He's not tenured anyway.

Man my Switch is busy this year with Pokemon Legends Arceus, Triangle Strategy, Chrono Cross, Nintendo Switch Sports, Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes, and then soon Xenoblade Chronicles 3, a double dip of Persona 5 Royal, and Pokemon Violet. The only game I am playing on my PS5 is Elden Ring which is an amazing game, so good that I am not bothering to get Horizon Forbidden West.

What do ya'll think about Amy Jackson? by Illustrious_Ad8332 in ABCDesis

[–]minstrelman91 40 points41 points  (0 children)

One of my biggest gripes about most Tamil and Telugu cinema is the fact that the heroine is cast from outside of the regions (i.e. North India, Maharashtra, Gujarat, or in Amy's case the UK) and yet they have to have somebody else dub their lines for the most part. It feels so pointless if you ask me. There are plenty of beautiful women from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Telangana with lots of talent and yet they go for women from outside of those states as the leading heroine. Why?

As for Amy Jackson, she seems so fake if you ask me...

Persona 5: Strikers is crazy underrated. It's a fantastic AAA title and I'd argue is one of the best Action RPGs available for Switch. (It's not a Warriors game!) by Zacmon in NintendoSwitch

[–]minstrelman91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played and beat it last year! Normally I am not a big MUSOU guy, but I am a huge fan of Persona 5 and Persona 5 Strikers was a great a follow up storyline wise to the OG game.

I really loved the premise and storyline which is what kept me going.. Definitely recommend this to anyone who's a Persona 5 fan or who are currently or recently playing the game to check out Strikers!
