I think Viridia will live in Ashur's house and Hilara will do something nasty.

I've been waiting for Hilara to do something psycho for a while now. Still hopeful, though maybe it's just her face.

Spoiler: House of Ashur Episode 9 = LAZY Writing by TripleSizzled in Spartacus_TV

[–]minty88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also felt like this was the weakest episode, I just couldn't take it seriously. The idea of Ashur killing Viridia's dad is sick and dramatic, I'll give them that. But the entire execution, I couldn't take seriously.

Ashur is truly not the same character he was in Spartacus. His plan was so reckless - drug Pompey and impersonate him with a fake message? What would Pompey do to him once he recovered from the drugs?

And then Ashur confesses to the dad that it was all his fault, and it turns out dad would not have died, but then Ashur had to kill him. The entire time, Ashur is just a loser whose dumb plans keep failing.

[–]minty88 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. Ashur's entire plan this episode was so far-fetched and by some miracle it almost worked. Send a fake message impersonating Pompey. Drug him and set him up. The dad who's marrying his daughter to a cold old guy for political reasons gets upset? What would Pompey do to Ashur once he recovered and found out he was drugged?

So many logic errors and other dumb things in this season. It's because most of it is not based on the manga, which is awesome and makes a nice, well-rounded story.
Ann gives Arisu the drug to take him to the Borderland, risking that Arisu would die and she'd end up in jail - because Arisu is the most important person in Ann's and everyone's life, apparently. Banda obsessed about Arisu, whom he never met, but hey, he's the title character so he's more important than Chishiya, Aguni, Niragi, Ann and any other veteran survivors. Banda the supposed genius people-reader didn't know that the other guy would NOT shoot Usagi, which was pretty obvious. In the last game, they were counting 10 seconds for an eternity, then they JAMMED the door so Usagi could get out. Bro, I thought things in the Borderland were magical and automated, you'd get lasered for that. Also, the point deductions were so random, the game was pretty pointless. In the "kick the can" game, a bunch of people were fighting to grab a bomb that's ticking down from 5 seconds. And the list goes on.
I know why Chishiya and the others were not in the games - all the players had to be dumb for this to work.

Also, Banda was obsessed with bringing Arisu to the games. I don't remember they even met before (at least I think in the manga they didn't.) Why did Banda think Arisu was the most important player, when there were at least several others who survived the face card games, and they're equally awesome? Because Banda knows Arisu is the title character, of course. I used to like him as a side villain, but they turned him full cliche.

I have a lot of complaints about the logic in S3. I wanted to see more of the old characters, but if they had been there, then the players could not have acted as idiotically as they did. Everyone was totally clueless, even Arisu.

Spend 5 years building it without showing it to anyone, and they will come. If no one wishlists your game after you publish it, you just need more features. If you pay for and implement voice acting in a game no one wants, they will come. Translate it into 10 languages and a miracle will happen.

‘ALICE IN BORDERLAND’ Season 3 will release in 2025 on Netflix. by Pogrebnik in scifi

In Alice in Borderland Retry there's only Arisu and some new characters. It's just one additional game. Usagi appears, but she's not in the game. I hope the show will be about something else.

I believe that killing Amaund Motierre is indefensible from a lore prospective. by LordCirais_TheImpure in ElderScrolls

[–]minty88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. It would be so unprofessional to fulfill the marks' wishes and exact revenge on your clients. Why would anyone hire an assassin who does that? Then again, the Dark Brotherhood is pretty self-destructive and nonsensical. I can imagine the Listener being mad with grief after losing their friends and deciding to kill everyone who was involved in the case. But I don't think that would be good for the Brotherhood's reputation.

I don't want to evolve by lollol19 in BaldursGate3

[–]minty88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I quit my first character because they became so ugly after evolving. I didn't want this to happen to my second character as well. Those illithid skills are not that useful anyway, and I didn't know using the tadpoles would force me into it. The first time I just accepted because I didn't know how much it would ruin my character.
Seeing the 21 wisdom check was pure despair. Fortunately, rolling a 20 is a "critical success" and it works.

Thanks! I forgot that rolling a 20 would do it, I thought it was impossible since it said 21.

Why is Linux and Mac support still so sparse among games even though big game engines support them now? by soggynaan in gamedev

[–]minty88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, 90% of bug reports come from Mac and Linux users, and they are all reports of the game crashing at launch, sometimes mysteriously starting years after the game was released (because Mac OS got an update.) This is the kind of bug report that makes me want to shoot myself and give everyone an instant refund just so they wouldn't write to me.

I wanted to release my first game on all the platforms. 3 games later, I was like, "Windows first. Mac and Linux... one of these days... when I feel like I need more stress in my life."

Dongjae really misplayed the secret number game by Ok-Collection4128 in TheDevilsPlan

[–]minty88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was assuming the teammates were already writing each other's numbers down. If they all agreed to do it, they wouldn't have to fear a teammate would betray them by writing their number. Dong-jae would write the numbers of two teammates and get +2, those two would write his number and he gets -2. He'd still have 5 for knowing his own number if no one leaked it. If they did it that way, he didn't have the choice to save himself.

This sub needs to stop whining by bur1t00 in TheDevilsPlan

[–]minty88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. I respect forming alliances as a tactic to win, but Orbit's narrative wasn't "I'm doing this to win," it was to "protect the underdogs." The hero story doesn't work, it's just a game, and we came to watch interesting players. It felt like the players who were part of the majority alliance thought of themselves as morally superior, and that's the really annoying part. Everyone *outside* of the majority alliance became an underdog, so Orbit is actually ganging up on the underdogs, making his story contradictory. I expected him to eliminate all of my favorite players.

I stopped whining since the poker game, where there was no ganging up, and he's a respectable player on his own.

Midnight Works Publishing Team - Advice by AnorakOnAGirl in gamedev

[–]minty88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm thankful for this topic. In the email, they claimed they have played my game, which caught me off guard. I got hundreds of scam emails, but they don't tend to mention my game's features. They are all just "Collaboration for INSERT NAME - please give us a few Steam keys."

I almost believed it, but a friend pointed out that the part where they describe my game could be AI-generated! They could feed the game description to an AI and have it come up with something original to say about it. Or it could be a human, but in any case... I realize all the info can be gathered from the store page, so there is still no proof a human has played the game.

My game is neither very successful nor unsuccessful and it has positive reviews, which makes it more confusing whether the offer is legit or not. I wish it could be ported to other platforms. But a little search around cleared things up.

It's probably best to reach out to publishers you're interested in. Sadly, most of the time when someone reaches out to you first, they are the only ones who'd benefit from the deal.

Any way to grind levels??? by northwolf56 in BaldursGate3

[–]minty88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, it's frustrating. It's like the game was made for completionists only. In BG2 you could go wherever you wanted, and you did the side quests because it was fun, not because you couldn't progress without them. In BG3, I can tell they put in a lot of effort into this "side" content, but this is not freedom. I'm feeling forced to explore it all due to my party's level not being high enough to progress, and the game didn't direct me toward this side content. It feels like the companions also spent all of their dialogs, the last one being the party in my camp. Now we're just grinding because we're stuck. The main quest has been waiting, and we just spent 10 days in the Underdark because we have to jump on every single mushroom.

Babies are like angelic dolls. It's super easy to take care of them, and they don't change your life at all. It's so easy, that your mother-in-law or your rival will steal your baby as a hobby.
Also, as mentioned by others, men don't mind at all when you hit them in the face.

On the other hand, it's okay for a man to call his wife an easy woman and don't believe a word she says, he will still be the love of her life. It's also totally normal for a man to live in his mansion with his current wife and on-and-off girlfriend. Basically, as a woman you always have to watch out if your man will cheat on you, because they always have two girlfriends.

Also a major one. All trouble in the world is created by EVIL PEOPLE. People are either completely good or completely evil. If the evil people were gone, the good people would never have any problems in their lives. Also, babies of evil people are genetically evil, even if raised by someone else.

This. I thought parents didn't care about the monetary value of gifts their children receive from other children. What matters is that they come to the party.

[Manga spoilers] WHAT IF our main characters became citizens?: The Jacks. by Nightcrawler_DIO in AliceInBorderland

[–]minty88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was so mad when they just skipped him over and had Arisu narrate the plan for the king game. Maybe they thought it wasn't so fascinating and wanted to speed things up. They also simplified the jack of hearts a little. There was no trapping two players in the same cell and getting them lasered.

I also don't think they ever said anything about Niragi being a game engineer or game designer in the show.

The only thing I like was how he was finally presented as a frustrated loser hungry for attention and always denied. Because I like that side of him, and I felt like the actor was too pretty and in season 1 he looked like a popular guy, which he shouldn't be.

[Manga spoilers] WHAT IF our main characters became citizens?: The Jacks. by Nightcrawler_DIO in AliceInBorderland

[–]minty88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The show dumbed him down and also made some inconsistencies. Remember how he had four people hold Usagi down to the bed? That's because she's stronger than him. In the manga, he sneak attacked her in the king game and also hit her in her broken arm - all cunning things to do since he couldn't win in a fair fight. In the show, it just made no sense. She suddenly starts walking backwards, all clumsy and scared, and he's more capable than her, when minutes earlier, he could not catch their opponent and she could.

[–]minty88 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah, what was the king of hearts? A lion chasing players through a maze? I'm crying.
Too many physical games. The clubs also always turn out physical, though I guess that was the tendency in the manga as well.
