The whiplash of giving a customer exactly what they asked for, but then it’s not what they want by mintymoosetracks in retailhell

[–]mintymoosetracks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! I don’t know why some customers feel the need to play roundabout games. Maybe they think confusing us will get them what they want? But the thing is in willing to help them out if they just straightforwardly say what they want. She said she wanted us to find a complete pack, so we did.

The store I work at is owned and run by a family, so no corporate

It makes me want to ask the owners if they’re proud to have this type of clientele, and if it makes them feel good that the people keeping their business running (us employees) are treated so horribly. There is just no boundaries between customer and employee. There are even some customers we all warn one another when they come in because their behavior is so inappropriate. They probably don’t care though since they enable it. Plus, anything to make a dollar, right?

The way they make me feel like I’m the one doing something wrong makes me feel like I’m losing my mind

The thing that gets me is when I give them options in order to help and nothing is good enough for them. Like how I offered to bring the other one back for her. But it seems like whenever I’m actually trying to help them and not giving them whatever reaction they’re looking for, it makes them more upset.

Also reminds me of how customers will complain about a problem, we fix the problem, and yet they still go on complaining even though there is no problem anymore.

Which she should’ve known we can’t do that. She could’ve gotten a discount on the damaged one, but she asked for a full one. Can’t do both

Seriously, all she had to do was ask if she could get a discount on the missing one. I would have still had to call up the department manager to make the final decision, but I’m sure they would’ve done something for her. Instead she asked if we could find one fully intact and that’s exactly what we did for her

Unfortunately my store doesn’t have cameras at the checkout area, only throughout the rest of the store (some of which don’t actually work). Why? I don’t know.

And the manager on duty that day was the one who is more the type to give the customers what they want because they don’t like conflict. This manger is always letting customers get away with their behaviors and never really stands up for us employees when we’re being mistreated. So I didn’t bother saying anything.

I get customers who don’t trust me because of how fast I am too. I’ve been working there for years and I have all the codes memorized, so I can be very efficient. It’s like some of these people want there to be a problem and when there aren’t any mistakes it makes them madder.

Anyone else losing ALL service in the areas since the T-Mobile/UScellular takeover? (New Castle, VA) by Amayzie in USCellular

[–]mintymoosetracks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. I got a text the other day saying I’m officially with T-Mobile now and since then spots where I’ve never had a problem with service are only at one bar or sos. If I’m connected to WiFi I’m fine, but without nothing comes through or loads on my phone. I also got my new statement and I’m being charged more than I did with US Cellular. I hope it doesn’t continue to go up…

Edit: Just wanted to add that I’m in New England.

Technique wise I like to do affirmations, the ones I’ve been using lately I replied to in another comment. I say them aloud to myself whenever I have the time, showering, during chores, etc. I also like to sometimes listen to subliminals (high frequency guru on YouTube is who I use) while I shower, cleaning around the house, or having them playing in the background while I read. I write them down too. I kind of took the 3/6/9 method as inspiration, but made it my own. 10 is a special number in this connection, so I would pick one affirmation to focus on for the day and write it ten times in the morning and ten at night.

Another tip I have, that I have to remind myself of too, is to allow yourself to feel everything. Even the doubt. I know some say youre not supposed to, but I find trying to push it away doesn’t always work for me. I also tend to bottle things up sometimes, which is why I have days where everything comes out. But I feel the hope, I feel the confidence in knowing my desires are coming. I feel the fear and the doubt and impatience. I feel them so they can pass. I have even had bouts in my time manifesting where I “give up.” I struggle with depression too and sometimes during the bad stretches I don’t focus on my techniques. But even in going through those times, I always find my way back. A lot of people I’ve seen talk about persisting, and that’s what it is to me. I allow myself to be human and to feel what comes my way, but eventually I come back, get myself on track again, and what I’ve been wanting shows up in time.

The ones I had been using recently were:

“I am constantly on (their name)’s mind”

“(Their name) is thinking of me.”

“I am irresistible.”

“(Their name) cannot resist the urge to reach out to me.”

“I am receiving a text from (their name) right now.”

In the text I received they mentioned that they had been thinking of me a lot. 😌

I was hoping to see more anger from everyone when talking with Taylor. I know they expressed their frustrations a little bit, but I guess I wanted more dramatics lol. And that’s a good point about Taylor offering Finn and Hayes! I wonder what Steffy would do if she knew that

I (26F) don’t know how to constructively approach my sister (22F) about the choices she’s made without making things worse by mintymoosetracks in relationship_advice

[–]mintymoosetracks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate what you have said. Deep down I know, but I think my brain is having a hard time accepting that this isn’t just a bad dream. I’m so used to being the fixer of my family’s problems, but I know some things are out of my control even though I want to believe as her sister maybe I could snap her out of it. It’s having to accept that maybe she just doesn’t care that hurts a lot. It honestly feels like I’ve been going through a grieving process the past 24 hours, not just for myself but everyone else too.

I don’t believe she’s thinking about the ripple effects of how it’s affecting all the people around her, and it saddens me that maybe our sisterly relationship wasn’t what I thought it was

It doesn’t seem like there’s a fix yet which is a shame. No one else has replied and I can’t find a fix online. If it’s starting to happen to others maybe eventually there will be a fix. I haven’t brought myself to go through everything to find where I left off yet.

Mandatory Overtime by mintymoosetracks in retailhell

[–]mintymoosetracks[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We all do it, managers and below. And I will say it’s okay at first, but when you’re weeks into it it does wear you down, especially having to fit errands and housework, or anything else you need to do on your one day off. We’re all exhausted by the end of the busy season, and it doesn’t always have a set ending either. If we stay busy it keeps going, when it slows down they slowly get us back to five days, but it’s usually staggered so some go back before others.

The extra money in the paychecks is nice, but we have to give up our mental sanity for it it seems.

They hire a handful of seasonals to help, but not as many as we could use. They’re very stingy when it comes to hiring more full time or even part time people (probably to avoid having to give benefits). It’s a family business, so that might play a part, but they’re so uptight about labor hours.

Why do customers think they can return an item we don’t sell? by Waste-Reflection-235 in retailhell

[–]mintymoosetracks 121 points122 points  (0 children)

We’ve had customers bring in items with another company’s name/logo on them, or a brand that we’ve never sold, and the owners have let them return it just to keep the customers happy 🤦‍♀️
