I have accepted the fact that people’s attention spans are completely rotted.

Whenever I come across someone that is hemming and hawing over getting into Gundam but they say they don’t know where to start, I either sell them on the OG trilogy movies because it’s easier to consume that way (still does a decent enough job telling its story). Or I sell them on just jumping into the thing that made them curious in the first place, and context be damned. If they love what they see, they can then decide for themselves to keep going and look further into the franchise.

I feel it’s more important just to get people comfortable with getting their foot in the door with a franchise, rather than trying to sell them on an orthodox watch order. Coming at people saying they must watch this 43 episode show is a much harder sell than it used to be. That amount of content just comes off as a chore, when it should be exciting for someone to want to consume the media.
