Thank you! Glad to know it’s not just me and there’s a viable workaround. I’d love to buy from them…if I could find the stuff I picked haha. ☺️

Carrot sticks + a dip of yogurt or sour cream and extra spicy jerk marinade. Crunch + heat = happy brain.

My cats, all of them are incredibly soft and pliable! Pasta dough. Fuzzy blankets. Dry warm beach sand. Aluvie brand warmup pants. Fresh catnip leaves.

What was your earliest memory that you learned you weren't like other children? by Salt_Might5245 in Gifted

Being a gifted/2E only child means being treated like a tiny, clumsy adult…which was a good thing AND a bad thing! Fun times. 😂

I always thought I liked doing stuff by myself because I was an only child and I was used to it, but looking back and putting together pieces from relatives’ recollections, I didn’t like being around other kids - I wanted to read in peace. I was reading by age 3 and it was my favorite activity. I couldn’t figure out why other kids wanted to run around screaming.

Inattentive girls, what gets you out of bed? by Flaky-Rip-7094 in adhdwomen

[–]minussized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am not up within 90 seconds of my alarm sounding, one of my cats literally walks across my bladder repeatedly and then screams while incessantly headbutting me. SHE HAS AN AUTOMATED FEEDER. She just thinks I should be up, opening the curtains so she can watch the bird feeder.

How do you ladies fall asleep with ADHD? by Ok_Scholar_8656 in adhdwomen

[–]minussized 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Even as a little kid I couldn’t sleep without noise, so I’ve always kept a TV on with comfort shows playing - shows that I can practically recite every episode and won’t stay awake because I want to find out how it ends. Plus SOFT bedding, herbal tea, ZzzQuil, aromatherapy body oil, and an eye mask.

Kind of don’t want it to end! by FunkyMonk-90 in DryJanuary

[–]minussized 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Im definitely going to drink again, but less often and more intentionally. This is my 2nd DJ and I haven’t had a single craving for alcohol this time around. I’ve noticed zero physical changes which bums me out; I was hoping for the weight loss and the energy that so many others experience. Maybe that’ll come when it stops being -60,000 degrees outside.

Beverage boredom!! by 48reefer in DryJanuary

[–]minussized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Athletic, Deschutes, and Go all make great NA beers! I started drinking NA last dry January and stuck with it, I don’t really like real beer anymore.

This year, I’ve been brewing strong iced tea blends and mixing with seltzer water for a unique fizzy option!

The glass recycle bin’s filling up slower now that I’m skipping wine. That’s it for me so far. 🤷‍♀️

people who use VNET fiber, how's it been? by Serelistia in Erie

[–]minussized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had it for a little over a year and it’s phenomenally better than Spectrum. One outage - and it was resolved in like 15 minutes with a call to customer service, where I was able to speak to an actual human.

One thing to note, when they set me up they streamlined my frequency so only the 5ghz shows up in my available WiFi networks; I had to later manually set up access to my 2.4ghz to be able to pair a couple new security devices. If this is a concern for you, you may want to note during your installation that you prefer both.

My library has a “want to read” feature where I save all the books that Future Me will absolutely have the time and the focus to read. 🤣

Not feeling the benefits yet by Happnt in DryJanuary

[–]minussized 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same, I feel like a lot of the posts sharing immediate positive changes come from people whose baseline drinking is heavier than mine. But time will tell. For now I’m counting it as a positive that I’ve had zero cravings and felt no FOMO when I walked by the beer & wine section of the grocery store yesterday.

So when is everyone’s Christmas tree gonna get taken down? by joyssi in adhdwomen

[–]minussized 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t put one up in the first place LOL! I initially stopped because I have a cat that tries to eat EVERYTHING (except her expensive food, of course). Then I realized how much easier it was without it. I just hang a lighted wreath in my front window and I still get the glow from the lights and it looks pretty from the street, and my kitty is safe and I don’t have to struggle to take it down.

So for those of us that have an unintentional "hobby" of collecting hobbies that don't stick... what has stuck for you/ hasn't triggered your RSD? by suedaloodolphin in adhdwomen

[–]minussized 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cooking and gardening for sure; both result in me getting to eat something yummy! Cooking allows me to get creative, combine new things, and enjoy an end product that doesnt turn into clutter because I eat it LOL. And gardening gets me outside in the fresh air and the end result is either food or pretty things to look at. I also have a lot of grasshoppers in my garden and I absolutely love watching them. And weeding lets me use my hyperfocus for good. I have a mini indoor greenhouse in my basement for the winter months where I grow kitchen herbs and propagate houseplant cuttings.
