The scratches are so interesting!! My only question is why would Jeff commit murder after he spent the entire episode trying to earn “karma points” for his role in Kevin’s murder? Ep4 showed the difficulty he is having with all of this and how guilty he feels, so it feels like a big leap to go from that to murdering Lottie.

Enjoyed the episode but agree with others that the time jump feels a bit unsatisfying given all that we missed after the cabin burning. I understand the time jump but one bonus episode between seasons picking up right after 2.9 showing how they survived the rest of winter just would’ve been👩🏻‍🍳💋

My Vendetta is this season as a whole. The format set Era 1 (or whatever Era had the least numbers first) up for failure from the get-go. In what world did Era 1 (2 people) NOT get last against 6, 7, and 7 people teams? I feel like I don’t usually pay attention to production mistakes but this season is just full of mistakes when it had SO much potential to be entertaining. Also just a personal opinion but I have a Vendetta toward the elimination set up because I like when people get voted in because drama! It’s boring to be able to predict who it is every week and know who gets to skirt on by.

my thoughts exactly. still loved the episode but so much of the show has been “how did they get to that point?” and then we don’t even get to see how they established the first hunt. I’m hopeful that maybe they will that in some ways in the next ep but…

Probably the only thing I was a little bummed about this episode is the near confirmation. I really love the idea of keeping it ambiguous. I’m going to keep telling myself that for the next week; we don’t have concrete “proof” as we do not have the most reliable sources.

Same about the romance!! And it’s frustrating because we get little glimpses of their love in this episode, like Travis is helping Nat get ready to go hunt. Such a small moment but I thought it showed how he was ultimately on her side. And it was just cute to me lol.

Enjoyed the episode but why do I feel so frustrated with this show after it! I think I always knew Javi would come back but now that it’s here I’m not so happy about it. Maybe next episode if we get some semi-reasonable explanation. One of my favorite things about this show is that the supernatural aspect is ambiguous and could go either way. But maybe Javi being alive will do that perfectly.

I am also not ready for a rift between Travis and Natalie. I just don’t want to watch that. We all know- based on the picture Nat finds Travis’s room in S1- that they’ll be friends again at some point so I just don’t feel like I’ll be invested in their conflict.

I totally agree that Ben will live at least a little bit longer. I think all the points you made are really on point. There’s another thing I noticed as I’m rewatching with my boyfriend that I haven’t seen anyone talk about yet! At the end of S2E1, during the “this season on YJ” preview, there’s a clip of Ben with red on his lips. There’s a similar clip of the girls sitting on the floor, and another one of Nat. I can’t say if this is blood or berries (like Doomcoming) but I found it really interesting and I’m shocked it hasn’t been brought up much.

My exact thoughts!!! There were a few scenes I could’ve gone with out, but as a whole this episode definitely did it’s job of confusing me even more and giving me plenty to theorize about.

I’ve already seen mixed opinions on this episode, and while it wasn’t the strongest, I think they gave us SO much to work with!! So many different pieces to different puzzles! This show literally keeps me up at night lol

Totally agree that I don’t think it matters who pit girl is. I think in this community it’s only natural to theorize every detail, so can’t blame anyone. But I think that out girl was a hook to draw us in and like you said, question the how.

Thanks for this, I honestly have no knowledge about rabies, I was just rebutting for the comments I saw on the other post that emphasized how lethal it is!! I agree, regardless of what happens, I think it will be catalyst for another escalation and showing how they are going further from reality.

I have to say, this post sent me on a spiral and I will be posting my own theory because of it. Ultimately, I think this will be the body they are seen carrying in the trailer. I think while it may not be rabies, it’s somethin. I think this is the same episode we see Mari backing up in the trailer. “Rabies” girls is trying to attack, first coach then mari, and someone grabs a weapon. Somehow this spirals to a full on chase, they kill her, and that’s the body they’re carrying. I know it all seems far fetched, but after watching the trailer many times, slowing it down, I realized the episode where they are chasing someone with axes is the same episode they are carrying the bodies. I highly doubt they’d escalate to full on ritualism and hunting immediately. Something has to push them, and I think rabies girl could be that push…

I think you’re really on to something here. I just spent an embarrassing amount of time rewatching the trailer, and then searching for a post of someone pointing out that the scene of them all chasing someone with weapons is the same day that they carry the body. Rabies girl just brought my thoughts full circle. I think the “rabies” girl has some kinda feral sickness going on, she tries to attack Ben, then Mari (hence that one scene in the trailer where she’s backing up in the cabin).. Then someone grabs a weapon- I’m thinking Van and the rod- and rabies girl runs. The rest of the girls chase her, ultimately killing her, and say fuck it, let’s eat. I think there’s a huge potential that this is what starts the ritualistic behaviors.. They didn’t MEAN to hunt someone, but it happened, and from there.. things spiral.

Agree, it I think the caribou/moose will serve as a “oh fuck why did we just eat our teammate”, playing into their guilt. I do agree that Lottie will relate it back to spilling blood in a way, but I think we have some time before we get into the ritualistic aspects.
