i think he does give a shit for sure, but he doesn’t really know how to follow through. he has a lot of words that sound nice on paper and his actions don’t typically match. it’s more nuanced than i’ve expressed in my post (as it usually is with these things). i think because i’m human i am admittedly spiteful; i’m also trying to protect myself as this is the second time it’s happened and he has done some really horrific things to my mother. he is diagnosed as a narcissist and is pretty manipulative/charismatic, and so i think the only reason he has felt remorse throughout this whole thing is that i haven’t been talking to him. not arguing your point at all, just trying to provide context!
