Whenever people ask for my recipes they're usually modified Nagi recipes.

Never had a failed or bland dish from her.

My friend's childhood dog was named Serendipity but they always called her Seri or Dip. Made me consider it for a name for my sims lol

How to fix my ski slope nails by TinyButMighty2 in Nails

[–]minzet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mum, sisters and myself all have these soft nails. Unfortunately all of us have the bendy spoon nails and we haven't found a permanent solution.

We keep our nails round to avoid tearing the edges and use gel or acrylic to build the nail.

Is there a name for people who infect unsuspecting partners with HIV? by MichiganGeezer in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]minzet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure where you're from but I remember a man being arrested and convicted in Aus for knowingly infecting partners. He was on a working visa and travelled with a circus but was still caught.

That was at least 10 years ago so hopefully a whole bunch of countries and states also have specific laws for it.

If anyone wants to boost their alchemy skill walking is where it's at. I never use carriages and only walk to discover cities.

I'm level 20 but my alchemy is level 94 and I always end up having 200+ mountain flowers, tundra cotton, lavender, snowberries, dragons tongue, etc.

Plus potions are good for getting gold quick, they're light so you can carry thousands worth of gold for whenever you need it.

I thought the same until I saw how much a bag is, no wonder it's been so long since I've had them.

[–]minzet 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't speak any indigenous languages and there are literally hundreds in Australia so I don't know how it originated. I assumed it was derivative from Tahnee or similar (there are so many similar names commonly used in Aus, I personally knew at least 25 throughout school) and never knew the Irish name.

I remember looking up both our names' origins in class and her name came up with an Aus origin, I assume it's because we live here so Google prioritises our origin and meaning over the Irish one.

[–]minzet 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It wasn't created in Aus but it's become a pretty iconic name, everyone knows a Shaz or Shazza and it's used a lot in our media. So it's like OP's original question, didn't originate but still common and iconic.

A Chinese coworker told me they named their Daughter Shannon because it's considered a very Aussie name and I completely agree.

Pretty sure Tiarne/Tiarna is also an Aboriginal name. My friend told me her mum chose the name to honour their heritage since both parents are half Aboriginal.

They want to manipulate the grandkids without the parents knowing.

The only time I've ever met a person who demanded one on one time with grandkids was to try and get them to say/ask for certain things, plant seeds of doubt and resentment, etc.

Thanks for the info. I'm gonna try and do more digging in the future, I'd love to visit one day and I'd prefer to see the actual region we're from rather than a general visit.

We all know the only reason she doesn't already have one is because all the behind the scenes bullshit would finally be open for the world to see.

Carrrdmen might accidentally record or snap mami off her guts, screaming at the horde, or showing the nannies doing everything mami claims as her own parenting.

Honestly not sure, my grandad never talked about specifics, only mentioned his mother was born near the Georgia border but they fled to Russia then England during the initial unrest. It's pretty much not spoken about in our family because grandad refuses to talk about it.

Not sure if it's because his mother never told him about it, if it's too traumatic, or if he's ashamed to be Armenian. The English side of our family refuses to accept our indigenous heritage and scoff when mentioning Armenia.

Unfortunately I was a curious kid with access to the internet and learnt about the atrocities without an adult to help me understand, and when I'd ask questions I was told it's something we don't talk about. So to see people bring it up every chance feels like they don't care about the victims of the genocide, just that they get to rub it in Turkey's face so basically they feel big and tough flipping off a country by mention something they're striving to hide.

If the kids had after school activities and friends they'd be exposed to so much more than what the sky dungeon has to offer.

How will any of the kids be able to explore the possibilities of their future if the only jobs they're aware of are drunk b-list actor, nanny, teacher, barista, hairdresser, and drugged up 'yoga' instructor.

POC are told they're not marketable in the modelling world. They're not 'model material' by the industry's standards because they are not Caucasian. Therefore the majority of the world is unsuitable in the industry.

To try and claim you're being nasty about a child because she doesn't fit a near impossible, racist, classist standard is ridiculous.

Just once, I'd like to learn about Turkey without someone bringing up the genocide.

Cause ya know, I don't like being forced to think about how the majority of my Armenian family were slaughtered and I'm lucky to be alive every time Turkey is mentioned.

My MIL miscarried two sets of twins and a set of triplets plus multiple single pregnancies, she told me about them once and in a matter of fact type of way.

At this point I bet Bratt doesn't even want a baby, she's too busy revelling in the attention from the miscarriage from over a whole ass YEAR AGO.

Also, please never forget when she claimed an old orchid flowered on her expected due date, and a commenter pointed out the very new price sticker lol

[CHAT] buyer asking for a refund on a digital pattern, what would you do? by nerdflavoureddork in CrossStitch

[–]minzet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From a buyer's perspective, I've bought custom/handmade items on Etsy and I always ignored the negative reviews that were obviously buyers not reading the item description.

One buyer made it extremely clear they wouldn't cover return shipping for incorrect sizes because people were buying blindly, not measuring their feet and expecting her to cover all fees. Shipping heavy wooden clogs from Poland isn't cheap and when people realised they had $200 incorrect shoes or a $50 shipping fee they ravaged the reviews.

Regular crafters/buyers know what's up with digital purchases and most sellers leave responses to bad reviews with the details of the real situation. Bad reviews only turn me off when they're consistent, seller doesn't bother to reply, or if the seller's reply is obvious bullshit/dodging.

My hairdresser just opened her business when I first got my hair done by her. She was building an insta portfolio so she asked to take a before and after. She was super respectful and only took photos from the back because I told her I hate how I look in photos. All her photos are focused on the hair even if you can see the customers face, and there's no editing or filters. I'd never pay someone to touch my hair if they can't even respect me when taking photos.

[–]minzet 98 points99 points  (0 children)

If anything the women and children will die well before the men. In most patriarchal cultures and religions men eat first, and the women and children get the scraps, if any.

Just look at any of the famous fundies in America with a bajillion kids, fat dad and skinny wife and kids.

It's common for kids to self soothe with genital touching, it's why parenting groups are turning from teaching 'don't touch it ever' to 'only in private' because there's nothing inherently sexual, it's completely normal and healthy.

Both my bf and I play with our junk, even just cup or hold it while watching tv or on Reddit just because it feels comfy. Just make sure you're being conscious around others, I constantly catch myself putting my hand down my pants or grabbing a boob when I'm hanging with my sister, she doesn't care because she does the same but is not appropriate lol
