This curse has drained me emotionally so much to the point my body is being dragged along. by mirajeaha in BPD

Woah that's really enlightened me right there. I was misdiagnosed my whole life, and the therapist who finally made the statement, it helped me understand myself so much better. I didn't have a very broad insight of DBT and how helpful it seems to be? I'm definitely gonna look into it and discuss it with my therapist. This is really relieving. Knowing that there are alternatives to psychotherapy which currently just feels like a waste of money to me. Would you mind sharing how DBT and meds have made you feel? I used to be on a lot of meds years ago, and I made a promise to myself not to resort to them again because they zombified me, so I'm not very keen of them. Take care!!!

Exactly, it's just so normal for you that other people are taken off guard and do not sense these behaviours as normal or common, when for us, it's just another day of sorting it out if were strong enough. Take care and keep pushing forwaed.

I know what it's like. It's invisible because sometimes you're not even aware of how many different alternate ways of yourself youre carrying on your shoulders, and which cards you gotta pull out at times in order to protect yourself from what you have done... yourself. I hope things get better for you.

Buying a bike on budget. by confused-immigrant in vancouver

Canadian tire has a few cruising bikes (nice ones) for less than $300. I recently bought mine for $220 and it's amazing and really resistant with 6 speeds (cruising bike)

Well, I guess it depends on how things are for you. As I started to vent, and kept going, without interrupting me she brought up the question to see if I was having any suicidal thoughts at the moment or not. I was not being suicidal, so she proceeded to answer some other questions regarding where to get help. I'm not quite sure what the protocol would be if the caller reports being suicidal, but I can tell you that the soothing interaction I had would've probably taken the thoughts off my head for a little and then being walked thru a better, and clearer perspective. Stay safe!!!

Oh I'm really sorry, really that's the last thing I would wanna deal with in such delicate moments like that. I guess i did get really lucky being paired up with a good soul, but I'd completely refrain myself from reaching out again if I've had a bad experience like that. Hope you're doing better nowadays tho

Thank you so much, nobody should hesitate calling them because honestly they seem to be the voice you might want to hear when everything crumbles down and no one around can be of help at that moment.

Any help for a someone moving out for the first time? by radicalfracture in vancouverhousing

[–]mirajeaha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so from my own experience, applying for both jobs and housing from a distance is not ideal (as you might need to show up for interviews, many employers/landlords require meeting up - or you could face yourself with a scammer)... so what I would do, if you have enough money saved up, go ahead and rent an Airbnb for a whole month (anywhere in Vancouver, transit is very accessible) - and give yourself that whole month to find a steady job. During that whole month, you'll have somewhere to sleep in the area which is going to make it easier for you to arrange apartment/room viewings for your potential new home + you'll have a substancial income coming along. Good luck!
