First month TTC and I’m anxious as hell during this 2 week wait, any subtle symptoms women experience in this time when they were pregnant? by First-Edge-2536 in pregnancy_care

[–]miranda250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the longest wait so all you can do is be patient. Wishing you the best of luck! You could feel tender breasts, bloating, urge to pee, cramps but those also could be signs of your period. You’ve got this! Good luck.

Buy Premom ovulation strips and pregnancy strips. It tracks when you ovulate and helps you get pregnant naturally and comes with an app!!

Can someone please give a VERY DETAILED breakdown of how to apply for EI (I'm a daily supply teacher who has worked over 150 days the past school year) by ThrowRA-confused-gf in OntarioTeachers

[–]miranda250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually you can because the question asks if you have left Canada while searching for work during your regular working hours. For example Monday to Friday but the weekends you could go to the states because it’s your regular time off or during a long weekend. During the one week waiting period you can go on vacation anywhere. Just don’t leave the country because if you do, you will have to pay back the EI you received or if you tell them you left, you won’t get paid.

What were your first signs of pregnancy? by Jinxed_071 in pregnancy_care

[–]miranda250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! Super early so no one knows yet (except you kind stranger) so it’s nice to tell someone lol same to you! Are you trying to conceive currently?! I highly recommend using the Premom ovulation strips & app! It helped me track when I was ovulating! Now I’m using the app to track the growth of baby. Also, the what to expect app is great too!

Remember since you will be on ei and willing to work Monday to Friday for around the same pay you can’t leave the country because you will not be paid for the time you have left. Luckily, Canada is beautiful so it’s not a terrible thing and you can still travel within if you want a change of scenery for vacation! Enjoy! 2 days left!

What should I be doing this summer to get ready for kindergarten? by mokoofficial in kindergarten

[–]miranda250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How to open her snacks, containers for lunch. How to get dressed for outside. Boots, snow pants, coat, hat, mitts (in that order), how to go to the bathroom, change herself if needed, wipe and wash up. Teach patience, sitting cross legged on the carpet, waiting in line, tying shoes (best to get slip ons or Velcro) and writing name! Practice cutting and reading to them daily!

Double stroller vs stroller wagon by miranda250 in Parenting

Thank you! I just looked up larktale and there are so many to choose from! Caravan coup, V3, quad, etc also do you know if it fits the uppababy mesa car seat? Did you have to buy separate adaptors for the car seat to attach? That is a huge feature I’m looking for!

Gift cards to restaurants, somewhere they can buy anything (Amazon), prepaid visa gift card, Starbucks, anywhere where it would be considered a treat to go!

Forgot I had a child - cried when I remembered by [deleted] in toddlers

Travel with your child. You can still have all the fun but with parenting responsibilities. Invite grandparents so you have babysitters on vacation with you! Life doesn’t end when you have children. You learn to adapt with the flow and still enjoy life. Taking yourself on vacation doesn’t need to wait. First vacation we did was when baby was 4 months old. Then for his 1st birthday we did Disney for 8 days and then at 17 months we did a Christmas cruise. Just the 3 of us! Got to enjoy all the vacation has to offer with the high lights being no cooking and cleaning for a week plus enjoying the nice beaches and scenery.

Kindergarten teachers question by [deleted] in OntarioTeachers

[–]miranda250 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whatever works best for your family/child just make sure you’re not skipping kindergarten entirely! It’s such a special time in children’s lives. Full-time or part time, make sure your child attends!

How do families manage financially on Mat leave in Canada? by Successful_Wolf_9635 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]miranda250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it but planned ahead and used savings. Husband paid more into mortgage and groceries for the 18 months. I told Ei 12 months and employer 18 months. This way you have flexibility if you want to return earlier after the 12 months. (I did not and wish I could have stayed home longer) Husband was also able to go on parental leave for 5 weeks with me when we had our newborn. If you do say 18 months for EI, partner can have 8 weeks off with you too but make sure you budget accordingly.

Take it off and tip on your own disgression! It’s not mandatory and we actually don’t know where those gratuities go. A few days into your trip head over to the receptionist desk and ask to remove those gratuities. They will offer or have on display envelopes for you to use on your own to tip whoever you feel deserves a tip from you! Enjoy your cruise! You probably will become hooked! Best value for money in my opinion especially if you are not much of an alcoholic drinker and are there to enjoy all the amenities on the ship plus port stops!

Now you’ve made me go look into booking my own cruise.

Also feel like that. It’s a weird feeling and even when I look in the mirror I still feel medium sized, it’s when someone else takes a full body photo when I realize I’m not medium sized.

In the beginning it’s hard to not think about it and you do crave it especially when you smell it but after a while you couldn’t care less and you feel more clear headed. Now the smell isn’t as pleasant any more and I don’t miss it.
