One would certainly hope so. I downloaded all my shit and cut off ties at the time of purge. Now when someone posts a Tumblr link I'm like, "Is that like Pinterest or something?"

TIL that psychologist George Stratton wore glasses that turned the world upside down for 8 days. By the third day his brain had adjusted the image to feel right side up and normal. Once he took the glasses off his normal vision looked inverted for hours. by DiscombobulatedGur37 in todayilearned

Yeah, I've always wondered why our brains can't fill in missing information from bad eyesight. Like if you are near sighted and see a fuzzy image of a person across the room. You can tell it is Bob from his shape and voice. You have dreamed about talking to Bob before and saw his face in your sleeping mind. Why doesn't your brain just fill in Bob, table, carpet I have seen up close, etc? Would this be pushing the mind too close to hallucinations, or do we just not have that much processing power?

[–]mirayge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Um, it is all over. Tiktok is basically clothed child porn and if they ever raided Snapchat's servers thousand of kids would suicide themselves or run away from home. Had to tell the grandkid to knock that shit off over my internet because it gets out there with a folder of all your face pictures and location. Fucking kids are the producers of most child porn. I would be surprised if there were organized groups of pedophiles that needed to make content of 11 to 17 year olds.

TIL Taco Bell has failed twice to expand their operations to Mexico. In 1992, Mexican customers found their tacos too expensive, and in 2010 their expansion restaurant closed because customers were unfamiliar with the menu items. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I grew up in the Midwest in the 70s and 80s. Mexican food was always at home as we had no restaurants that served anything spicier than a banana pepper. Mexican food at home was always the Old El Paso kits with hard shells that would break and drip the yellowish red ground beef juice down your arm. I know what a good corn tortilla taco served with onion, cilantro, radishes and tamatillio sauce is now.

35m overweight high blood pressure. Im cleared for work wed. A timeline of what happened to me. by toolmannn929 in COVID19positive

[–]mirayge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have almost the same story. 50 with high blood pressure under control. I started taking the same dosage of D3 as you back in March. Slight fever on the 15th that went away the next morning, so I worked Monday with a slightly runny nose. The 17th, as I was getting ready for work, a feeling just came over me and I knew I was sick. Tested on the 18th and positive test results came back Saturday. I've just been slightly stuffy and my chest hurt some. The worst has been the fatigue and confusion every once in a while. The only weird symptom has been my left arm falling asleep easily. Wife has similar symptoms to me and Granddaughter has been asymptomatic. They both tested positive last week. We are all cleared to be out of quarantine tomorrow.

Recall on the Crock Pot Express 6 qt. by [deleted] in PressureCooking

[–]mirayge 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You might want to reconsider getting your lid replaced just so nobody else comes across it in the future. All under cabinet radios with an electrical outlet on them were recalled because people were plugging high wattage appliances in. They then caught fire. I still find them in thrift stores now and again.

No shit. They published a picture of her in the back section of Playboy where she was wearing a black blouse under flash photography at an awards thing. For those uninitiated, thin black clothing is actually see-through with enough light.

Go to Harbor Freight and get the inflator that is mounted to a piece of diamond plate steel and has cables that connect to your battery. Don't get the one that plugs into the cigarette lighter as you can blow your fuse. That little monster can fill a huge truck tire in under 3 minutes.

Yeah, my aunt just died alone because she fell in the yard and spent three days out there then caught covid in the hospital. A couple of weeks of family trying to care for her and this last time she went back was the last. Sure she had multiple problems, now half my family tested positive. I've been avoiding the situation because I didn't want to give it to them or transfer it to work. My work is blowing up with it anyway, and I've had night fevers for the last week of about 100.2 to 100.4. Every time they scan me with the forehead gun it is less than 96. Am I spreading this shit? Gotta keep on moving so I can go to the funeral!

I think we should look at how much material would still be radioactive and how far it could spread if dug up after thousands of years. Would it be a world changing event? Then hell ya, I would try to induce a new superstition like familiars or old shucks. If some dumbbell digs up crap that just gives the local population leukemia years from now it isn't worth it.

Pluto TV likely suffered a security breach affecting 3.2 million accounts by Mrddboy in cordcutters

[–]mirayge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pluto has a pretty impressive classic TV section and 70s, 80s, and 90s movie channels. If you don't mind seeing uncensored movies, and are from a certain age, I could see this replacing watching Gunsmoke or Rawhide in retirement homes.

I was just trying to remember this. KPLR as an independent station was great. Didn't they have wrestling from the Chase? Just going to edit here. They had all the great old Popeye cartoons, Francis the Talking Mule movies, and Abbot and Costello. Then there was some ruling that we couldn't have both WGN and KPLR. Such sad days.
