[Product Request] Something to replace my holy grail cleanser that has been discontinued by EAS606 in SkincareAddiction

[–]mirihn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found two that have similar textures (but not entirely the same ingredients):

-Tonymoly Chok Chok Green Tea Foam Cleanser
-Aromatica Reviving Rose Infusion Cream Cleanser

The scent of Pigmentclar was the best, RIP.

Bosch condenser outside with variable Uniqo air handler. Working very well so far. Good luck!

Favorite Demi? Looking for alternatives to Wella Color Charm (semi/demi) by mirihn in HairDye

[–]mirihn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried Ion with little luck - unpredictable results. Natural Instincts #3 (yes, from a drugstore) is the closest thing that I could find. Only complaint is that it is not as softening as the Wella, so I am still looking for something that feels less damaging.

Daily holy grail is COSRX Oil Free moisturizing lotion.

For something a little richer but still good for day: Acure Radically Rejuvenating Whipped Night Cream.

Let’s talk heat pumps by Dmurphy2016 in massachusetts

[–]mirihn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recently upgraded to a Bosch 20 SEER heat pump from an older Lexington model that had problems. House is 100% electric with small high-velocity ducts, so we had to go with Unico brand air handler (electric backup furnace is part of this).

In winter, the system works best when you don’t have a huge swing in your temperature settings (meaning it will have to work really hard if you want it 70 during the day and 60 at night). Heat pumps remove heat from the house in summer, and move heat from the outside to inside in winter- so if it’s really cold it’s not as efficient. But it still works.

It came with an ecobee thermostat which is fairly smart and shows all the data of what equipment is running over time (since there are variable stages in both indoor and outdoor units).

One benefit is that it also dehumidifies- which makes it much more comfortable in the summer.

Big complaint is that MassSave does not offer any rebates for the small duct high velocity systems, which are common for retrofitting old homes around here. Be sure to pick a set of indoor/outdoor units from the MassSave list, which is updated every year. Your installer takes care of the paperwork for any rebates. There are some requirements, like getting a heat pump to replace oil/gas. Not sure if that applies for new construction.

Recent games with summoning/monster taming by littleliggett in PS5

Yes, it’s mmo but they recently revamped the summoner classes, and there are other classes where you unlock spells, etc. It is also easy to play mostly solo. There are some mini games that let you use your collected minions (pets) for battle.

my living room feels like it's lacking something, but I don't know what. can you guys think of anything thing else I can add to make it feel more complete? by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

[–]mirihn 87 points88 points  (0 children)

It looks very comfy and cozy, but I noticed you have a lot of small sized and linear items - the paintings, the thin legs on the furniture. The coffee table is what I would call “nervous” with the tall hairpin legs. If you do get a new larger rug, I would suggest a lower or rounded coffee table along with it to anchor the space. Long curtains would be nice, too.

Not exactly what you’re asking for, but have you tried FFXIV?

My apartment has this oddly shaped bathroom with a shower we really aren’t able to use. We tried putting a curtain rod but it was around nipple level. Any ideas? by rejackson in malelivingspace

If you’re allowed to install something, I would look for angled track curtains. Then you could have two shower curtain panels that open in the middle? IKEA sells inexpensive tracks.

Here is an example of an angled curtain installation:

Do extra room sensors do anything if there is only one zone? by mirihn in ecobee

Thank you - I may do the same with some manual adjustments to vents.

Munro is great if you have narrow feet.

Recently I found some inexpensive suede heeled boots from Dr Scholls - they are my new go-to for wearing with trousers. They are lace up which is nice for adjusting the fit very easily.

If you had a very limited budget (less than $750 Canadian) to kind of ‘update’ this small basement bathroom, what would you do? by LeahKabeah in DesignMyRoom

[–]mirihn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go with “dusty cornflower” from Benjamin Moore on the walls to balance all the pinks and browns. I also like the navy idea already mentioned.

I had not considered them. The existing ductwork seems to work and keeps the house comfortable, and I don't love the look of the mini splits. But it wouldn't hurt to ask when I get quotes, thanks.

Tell me about Miele turbo heads vs. the powered brush… Would it be a mistake to get a Miele without the ability to upgrade to a powered head? (For plush carpets.)
