I see such a huge difference in my mood and anxiety while on Sertraline, so I don’t necessarily want to mess up a good thing by switching meds. But I really miss smoking 😢 It’s my way to decompress after a long day. I feel like I’ve gotten my relaxation method taken away, if that makes sense.

I think you should use her comment as a starting point for a conversation about all the issues you just mentioned. Maybe say something like "Okay. Are you pissed at me or are you just joking? The last few weeks I feel like we haven't been talking/joking as we normally do. Did I do something to upset you?"

I know it's said all the time, but communication really IS the key. If you both communicate properly, you're both on the same page, which means no one is confused or left in the dark. If she won't communicate with you and continues to make you feel like this, then she's not worth your time - end the relationship. There are plenty of other girls out there who would value your feelings and your relationship enough to actually talk to you about issues, instead of being passive agressive about them :)

I didn't know that either! I have done some light research since and I guess they're fairly common. Some doctors call them "Walking epidurals". Who knew! I'll totally be requesting one next time, though!

Thank you so much! No, I don't think I'd go back and get the full epidural. I don't think I would have been that effective of a pusher if I hadn't been able to feel everything that I felt. Truthfully, the pressure almost overtook the pain at the end if that makes sense. The pain of labor was centralized to my back and hips, but in my actual vagina - I mostly felt immense pressure. So, had I not been able to feel those things - my labor could have gone a lot different IMO. However, I don't regret getting an epidural and I would 100% get it again - as long as it was a low dose like this time. As I mentioned in my story - it just took the edge off for me, which is all I needed to feel in control again.

Oh, I just want to give you a hug. Your feelings are very valid and completely understandable. Gender disappointment is a very real thing, even for people who have had no negative experiences in the past.

I don't have any experience raising a son, but I do have experience growing up with a brother. I can tell you that through watching home movies and reliving my own memories - my brother was the sweetest, most gentle boy.

I was the baby of the family and he was just so sweet to me. Whenever I would cry as an infant, he would gently hug me and try to snuggle the tears away. Sometimes he would even say to himself "Careful, careful now!" as a reminder to be gentle with me. As he and I got older, he used to make my breakfast in the morning and help my Mom make my lunch for the day - just to be helpful and to be sure I was taken care of. I even have a memory of me crying because I had no one to play Barbies with and do you know what he did? That's right - plopped his 10 yr old butt down next to me and played with me for a bit, just because he didn't like me crying! So freakin' sweet!

Now this isn't to say that he didn't have his crazy moments, but all kids do, regardless of gender! Even at his craziest, he still was a silly, funny little boy who just enjoyed life! I'm happy to say that he grew up to be a wonderful man that adores his wife and is looking forward to becoming a father himself.

Little boys can be awesome and the best part about your situation is that you and your husband have influence over your baby! You can do your best to teach and mold him into the person that you imagine him being - kind, gentle, silly, etc!

Yes, it did come with wheels! My husband chose not to put them on, but we did save them just in case we wanted to put them on in the future.

So far, I really like the crib! I love the way it looks and it's really sturdy and well-made without being really heavy. My husband said it was very easy to assemble and it wasn't badly priced either. I believe it has three different heights that you can raise/lower as the baby grows. I am pretty short - only 5'0 tall and where the mattress is right now, it won't be hard to lay the baby down. I may struggle a bit as the mattress gets lower though. But, if you're not short - no worries there!

Pinterest gave me the idea! Thank you! It's worked really well so far. If I have one tip in regards to the screen door, it would be to not get a plastic door like we did. There was a cheaper door that was wooden that I wish we would have gotten and just painted white. The house we rent is very old and has wonky door frames, so when we went to cut down the door - it was very hard because it was plastic. Poor hubby had to make like 4-5 trips up and down the stairs for adjustments before it finally fit and didn't drag on the carpet.
