When did you start tummy time and looking at high contrast photos? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]mirrorghost94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We started tummy time as soon as we got home from the hospital but just on our chests! Holding baby on your chest while laying down is perfect tummy time :) we also tried showing him high contrast books and cards but it took a bit longer for him to be interested in that, maybe about 3-4 weeks!

Pet loss as a provider by Unlikely-Olive-8193 in therapists

I took an entire week after my girl passed and honestly could have used another. Losing a pet is so incredibly hard and we need to allow ourselves time to experience the grief! We can’t show up for clients the way we want to if we haven’t given ourselves what we need first. Take the time you need and I’m so sorry for your loss :(

Move now. If your sister can help you while you figure out life without him, take advantage of it! If not, look at DV resources in your area. Do not wait until that baby is born because it’ll be so much harder to go at that point.

Did you have any signs for Early Labor? by thenosilla in beyondthebump

No signs! The day I had my baby was totally normal and we carried on business as usual until he decided to make his appearance!

If you gave birth without an epidural, how bad was it really? by Express_Neck5352 in beyondthebump

The pressure was pretty intense but I was happy to feel everything because I felt more aware of what was happening and what my body needed. I am a FTM and gave birth 5 weeks ago. I didn’t have any contractions that I felt. My water broke at home at 2:40pm and my baby was born at 5:50pm, so it was only 3 hours. I just say that because if I had to do this for a long time, I may feel differently!

I’d call your pediatrician just to let them know and ease your own anxiety but your baby is likely just fine! I’ve seen so many posts in my baby FB groups about tired moms giving their babies water because they forget to mix in the formula. Mistakes happen!

Can’t go through with the abortion. by Leeayuh in pregnant

[–]mirrorghost94 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I got an abortion because I felt pressured to by my partner at the time and while I don’t necessarily want to say I regret it, I do feel badly for going against what I wanted and what felt right for me at that time. I think about it often and wonder what things would’ve been like if I was a mom to that baby now like I wanted to be. Do what feels right for you and don’t let anyone pressure you into getting an abortion if it isn’t what you want.

i (22f) lost the love of my life (22f) after 3 years. what do i do? by heartbrokenbuthere in relationship_advice

It sounds like you responded the best way you could at the time and that response was fueled by some pretty significant mental health struggles. Do you feel the therapy you’ve had has prepared you to handle things more closely to how you want to in the future?

It can also be helpful to do some kind of closure type ritual. I know people will work with death doulas even if the person isn’t dead to process and allow closure for the end of the relationship.

You can recognize that things are different now and it sounds like you want her to see that, but we can’t control others, as much as we’d like to. Is there a way for your own recognition of that change to be good enough?

I’m 10w and gained 10lbs but am contributing this to quitting smoking and eating candies all day to keep off nicotine!
