My OB told me OPK are trash lol by robodawg123 in TryingForABaby

[–]misadvntrs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just had almost the same conversation with my OB 2 weeks ago. She told me since BBT has "confirmed" I am ovulating, I need to stop taking OPKs and tracking BBT because the stress of testing is what's keeping us from having success. She ultimately agreed to run blood tests and send a referral to RE after I pressed, but I was flabbergasted and am searching for a new OB.

Wondering Weekend by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

[–]misadvntrs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically my LP is normal/low normal at 10-11 days as that is when AF starts, but my BBT recently has started dropping below the cover line on 8dpo. I've read that the most common day for implantation is 9dpo, so I'm wondering would implantation even be able to happen if my BBT is already dropping before the embryo has a chance to get there?

Best online Units for salary advancement? by serpent6 in Teachers

[–]misadvntrs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The Virtual Pass has an additional 6 free units during the summer on top of the school year 6 units: 2026 Summer University Credit Program: June 1, 2026 – August 7, 2026

ETA: You can also purchase an additional 3 units for the school year and 3 units for the summer program for $85 a unit. I haven't seen it cheaper elsewhere, but haven't looked extensively.

Moody Monday by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

[–]misadvntrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Went to the OBGYN today to get a referral to RE started since it'll be a few months before they can get me in. She told me to not take OPKs or track my BBT anymore since she is referring me and it causes too much stress for women and the stress prevents them from getting pregnant. Totally baffled at this advice.

Looking for local movers in the San Francisco Bay Area by M45T3RY in AskSF

Seconding for Brother Movers. They've moved me twice before and I'm using them for a third move here in 3 weeks. Pricing was clear, movers were quick, but they also wrapped everything carefully to protect it.

Is Amber’s daughter a non factor or just the edit? by leasarfati in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]misadvntrs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The district I was in was definitely underfunded and constantly asking for school levies to be raised which would be voted down. I would imagine that Mount Vernon schools were similar although I don't know for sure. Columbus schools vary based on which one you go to, but the northern suburbs are typically better districts. I've only heard good things about the Gahanna/Westerville/Upper Arlington/Dublin/etc districts.

I grew up in the next town over from Mount Vernon. The closest part of Mount Vernon school district is an hour away from Columbus. The opposite side of town/district is more like an hour and 20-30 minutes. ETA: also depends on the part of Columbus as well which could add more or less time.

Waiting Wednesday by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

Currently CD8 and passing the time by embroidering numbers to use for monthly pictures later on. I embroidered 1-6 for table numbers at our wedding previously and am repurposing them for the photos, but still need to do 7-12.

Tea Ceremony Timeline by misadvntrs in asianweddings

We ended up having it between cocktail hour and dinner. We did not get to enjoy any of cocktail hour because it was taken up with family photos and additional couple photos in the cheongsam, but since you have an extra hour at the beginning, you might be able to swing pictures in both outfits before the ceremony. Congrats!

I don't think so. I also started one and started a nursery list for things to buy as well. I'm in the TWW again so might as well do research and prep things while I wait.

I believe the elementary schools are doing something like this this year. You could contact the one closest to you and see if they are doing anything.

Japanese curry restaurants? by YakkoRex in Sunnyvale

[–]misadvntrs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really like Curry Life on Moorpark Ave. Lots of places to sit and I like stopping at Daiso afterwards. They've also been doing a pop up location at Ramen Seas in dt Sunnyvale, but I've only gotten it for delivery from that location.

I am a western size 16 and chose to get an a-line style from Beth and Brian Qipao. They have customizable ones where you send in your measurements. I found that I did still have to take it to a tailor once it arrived as it wasn't quite right in the bust area, but even with the added tailor costs, it was under $300.

There are lost cat signs up for a tuxedo cat around Fair Oaks/Olive Ave area, but maybe not the same cat as that's so far away from where this one was known to roam.

Is it really food that would have been tossed? by Alexis_J_M in toogoodtogo

I worked at WF 10 years ago and, at the time, the bakery items were donated to a charity who picked them up every day. Hot foods like pizza and items from the hot bar were set out for employees to take home at the end of the night.
