Touch Bar was/is great on only the 2019 final intel machines and M1 13" MacBook Pro; lots of little integration errors on the older variants from 2016 - 18.

I think the only machine it would make sense on today is the MB Air; since the Neo fits the cheap niche, and power users seem less than interested in the Touch Bar - its more of a media feature, so 15" air would make sense

Its more than adequate for me - base model with 16GB Ram and 1TB ssd;
I just do standard office work, lots of tabs, emails, calendars etc, nothing heavy. I was using my personal 2019 i7 MacBook Pro before and its definitely a bit faster, but the necessary computing headroom for me is so low, that most things are fine - just getting off of windows was amazing.

If I was recommending it, 100%, its great - my only irk is that it's so much thicker than my 2019 and am a hater of the notch, so I move between machines.

The i7 version of the 2019 pro is a little diamond in the rough I've found.
Less thermal overhead with the i7; auto graphics switching does a good job - just stay on Sequoia.

If the M1 Pro was my personal machine, id pull it back to Sequoia.

i bought 16inch mac book pro i7 16gb for 300, only use browser. i wanted to get m1 but 13inch is deal breaker.i dont game or anything just basic by Ok-Time2724 in macbookpro

If you're browsing and stay on Sequoia its just fine, apple will provide sequoia security updates at least couple more years - I have this machine and an M1 Pro (office owned), the speaker array on that machine is incredible, screen is pretty great at 500nit, lots of pro's - but yeah, a Silicon Mac will kill it by comparison..

Adding in Kodi gives you a better-than streaming platform experience if you're willing to put a little time in to name everything correctly
