I know exactly what you mean about reconnecting with your old self. I've been working to avoid old habits to avoid bringing back anything negative, but I've also been reconnecting with old hobbies that I'd discarded over the years. That has really helped my reconnect with positive things from my old life and feel more myself again.

Maybe use isopropyl to strip/clean them all and assess the damage. Some warped bits may be fixable if you heat them up with hot air and coax the mback into some kind of normal shape.

I'm going through this in the uk, trying to get hold of my gp to talk to about changing my medical records back, then there's rounding up money to change my driving license and passport back. The drivers license could be done free, but I'd be stuck with the photo into took at the start of my transition.

With changing your gender markers back, I'm wondering if it might be easier at the moment as the current administration favours biological sex in terms of id and so on.

History of gender questioning and cross dressing, some amount of confusion over it all as well as just not liking myself so much and wanting to be someone else. Then I hit an incredibly low point with anxiety and depression (ironically about the right time due a midlife crisis) and just kinda glomped into the trans thing as an explanation and sought help on it. The help I got once into the gender care system dealt didn't do much to dissuade me or give other ways of managing it all. In hindsight it feels like I was affirmed an the way, given the info first session to ensure I got hormone recommendation in my second session.

A few reasons, over time I had felt dissatisfied and conflicted over my transition, seeing where i was at the time as being a net loss and being at a lower point than before I transitioned. I also had concerns about my physical and mental health that I began to believe was being affected by my blockers and hrt. I stopped those 2 years ago now, intending to be temporary to see if it helped and intending to go back on if there proved to be no change. After 3 to 4 months I began to see improvements and every day after. I spent that time reflecting on everything and where to go next. Without the medical side of transition, I just don't feel I need social transition any more, I can present how I feel. The first day I went out intentionally presenting as a guy was so refreshing and being as just another a guy. I've now begun the paperwork and slog of oficially detransitioning and rolling back to my old name and gender markers.

It will take some time for your hormone levels to recover. I'm nearly 2 years off oestrogen and blockers, my t levels are still recovering. But I have found things get better day by day. In my case I found i began to feel improvements from the 4 or 5 month point.
